1:07 What is an earthquake? An earthquake is caused when two blocks of Earth's crust slip past each other on a fault plane, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. Tsunami alerts were issued for Alaska and Hawaii on Tuesday after a major, 8.7 magnitude earthquake struck off the coast of Russia, according to officials.

Yes, because God loves NATO, DC and London the most. That’s why he made waves hit along the Kamchatka peninsula. LOL

TSUNAMI WARNING now issued for parts of Northern California (Del Norte & Humboldt Coasts) following the M8.8 megaquake off Kamchatka.
π Estimated wave arrival: 11:50 PM PDT in Crescent City
Significant inundation is possible.
Move inland now. This is a confirmed threat.
I heard it was a vertical slip, so one plate going under another. I honestly don’t think the tsunami wave that will hit Hawaii will be very large but I could be wrong. My oldest son and his family live there so I’m watching.
DESTRUCTIVE TSUNAMI has hit Kamchatchka, Russia, with waters rising 9-13+ feet. Multiple buildings along the coastline have been heavily damaged or destroyed.
It’s been bumped up to 8.8
9.1 quake in 2004 off of SE Asia triggered a massive tsunami, Sri Lanka, Indonesia... 220K people died.
FOX posted a live stream on Youtube which is a view of the Hawaii coastline.
Prayers up.
Early reports from Japan have tsunami at half a meter, so I suspect Hawaii and the West Coast will be about the same, with exceptions made for inlets that might focus the wave.
I thought it was a reacharound.
I hope the Kraken is released (finally!).

Wow. That’s a whopper.
Wonder if a volcano is getting ready to blow?
If I looked correctly that was a Sunday morning π. I was at work and my Dad called. He said you were right, that mountain ποΈ blew up this morning π.
The mountain ποΈ had grown like 18 inches the day before IIRC - I told him those people had better get away from that thing, it’s gonna blow.
Who ever heard of a mountain ποΈ growing that much in one day?
Well maybe other volcanoes πππ of course
Yes it would have been a Sunday
I always remember the date because it was the day after my youngest had her first birthday.
Flew close to it 2 weeks after it blew on the way to Anchorage.
Ocean buoys not indicating anything significant:

Waimea Bay 51201 - north of Oahu
Must have been quite a sight π
I can still recall a picture

killed by the pyroclastic cloud
