Prediction: They won’t like it.
Good for them. I have heard that there are many places in Africa that dislike blacks from America.
If you want to watch a really funny video about a black woman’s move to Africa that didn’t quite work out the way she thought it would, watch this -
Except he doesn't.
Good luck
Another prediction....they’ll be back...and sooner than you think.
Need any help packing?
L
They may go wherever they please but their heritage is HERE.
Africa sadly hasn’t changed a whole lot since your ancestors left there in the 17th and 18th centuries... Slavery continues there to this day.
Its a good thing he's got a rooftop terrace, because between the bus/truck exhaust, the garbage piles, the markets, the unwashed masses, and the sewage - Nairobi's streets are a "feast for the nostrils"
(I've been to France a zillion times. Never to Versailles. Stick my tongue out at pictures of Louis XIV. I'm holding a grudge.)
At least they put their money where there mouth is and go there to check it out for themselves.
Most will come back, perhaps some will come back with a changed point of view.
We wuz kangs, and could fly!
Yep, that is the thing no one wants to mention.
They cannot move up in civilization.
Only places slighty modern are leftovers from the hated white europeans.
Moving to Kenya? That doesn’t make sense. Their ancestors weren’t from Kenya. They were from west Africa.
The documentary depicted her beautiful mansion with swimming pool. I was thinking...
1. Her American dollar goes far in Ghana.
2. Whites -- and not "black excellence" -- brought all that technology to Ghana.
The documentary included her holding her Ghanan and American passports, as she happily proclaimed, "It's official! I'm now a dual citizen!"
So it seems she didn't give up her American citizenship.
Yet another dual citizen, loving a foreign country while wanting to maintain the benefit$ of American citizenship.
Perhaps one legacy of slavery is that American blacks have no idea of how important tribe membership is back in ‘mother Africa’.
One reason that the trans-Atlantic slave trade could exist is the mutual hatred between Tribe A and Tribe B who happened to live only a few miles apart. They’d raid each other capturing unlucky souls and when Europeans showed up on the coast, they were more than happy to sell their slaves. The sellers would get cool European stuff and get rid of neighbors they hated.
American blacks will never ‘fit in’, even in West Africa where all of their ancestors originally came from, let alone East Africa.
Please go. No one is stopping them from doing so.
So is he Masai or Kikuyu?
I would further state, if a black man doesn't feel comfortable in Atlanta, there is something else going on.
