>> the officer pulled the trowel out of its sheath, and said: “That’s not a garden tool.”“I said it is, because it was in the Niwaki-branded pouch that you get at garden centres,” Rowe said.

Insanity. NWH for the UK. At least none that doesn’t involve great pain.

They’re a crafty lot. They’ll trim your hedges with such speed and stealth that you’ll never see it coming.

“I was trying to be overly polite in the police station and trying to ingratiate myself with them in a way, because I felt like my future was in their hands, basically,”
Well, that didn't work out for him. Of course, if you do not, the bobbies might treat you like Tommy Robinson 2.0.
It must be bad if even "The Guardian" is printing articles about police harassment for tools of non-minorities.
I think the worst part is the snitch who thought she (I am assuming it is a she) was performing a public service by calling the police on a man gardening.

A word I'd never heard or seen before. I thought it was a typo. Well I learn something new every day on FR.

First it was guns when they came for you, now they come for your garden tools. England is such a damn joke!

Odd that they thought a trowel was a dangerous weapon, just because it had a pointy tip. While at the same time he possessed a gardening knife that looks more menacing.

I guess all those novels we’ve read about brainy British detectives aren’t indicative of the intelligence of their LEOs...
