House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) said in an interview that aired Thursday that files related to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein are “not a hoax.”
“It’s not a hoax, of course not,” Johnson said in an interview with CBS News’s Major Garrett on “The Takeout,” which Mediaite highlighted.
“I mean, they are real victims here, but that’s part of a delicate — the balance that’s being done here is, I tried to explain in my press conference this week, man, we want full disclosure. If I had — if I had these things in my possession, I would have put them out a long time ago, but I would also have been very careful to protect the innocent,” the Speaker added.
President Trump and his administration have recently been facing pressure from both sides of the aisle over Epstein’s case, with the saga also throwing Congress into chaos.

It’s kind of like the Ukraine-Russia war. Russia winning, Russia not winning. There is a list, there is no list.
It’s kinda like....who cares??????????
The leftist pedos whom Epstein protected love this attitude.
I’m not interested in Epstein, I’m more interested in Obama weaponizing our intelligence agencies and the need for accountability otherwise it will only get worse.
I have turned on this. When l see the parade of lying rats and MSM relentlessly beating on it l see it has become just the latest get Trump scheme.
This is starting to sound more and more like a Brer’ Rabbit in the Briar Patch moment.
Really? That is a FRussian take on things.
If people think there is some word document that has an alphabetical list that Maxwell or Epstein printed out…then no, this is no list.
Is there a list somewhere of identified people from videos and documents? Of course there is. If there are multiple sources, someone would have been tasked with making a cross referenced list. That is how the LEO folks determine conspiracies.
It seems that the people in charge just assume that the world is full of simpletons. And, if the masses believe there is a list in Epstein’s hand… guess they are right. But, of course there are cross referenced, compiled records. And even us simpletons would refer to that as a “list.”
But the world has become a pedantic Reddit subreddit these days. It’s sad.
They are however the best stimulating factor in seeking campaign contributions in both parties. Extortion on those involved over 20 years, and the promise of non-disclosure on the one hand, and the promise of disclosure to everyone else on the other. Ratings booster topic for the networks.
I think Trump is setting a trap for them. Why would the rats sit on it when Bidet was in office?
That’s just it; a simple list of his contacts is meaningless. There are likely any number of people on such a list who had nothing to do with his evil sex ring. What’s needed is evidence of acts of actual perpetrators. Hopefully, Ghilaine Maxwell and victims can provide that.

Epstein definitely had a contact list.
That was published years ago.
Trump was on it BTW, but what a lot of people may not realize is, they were constantly trying to reach out to lots of rich and famous people all the time, to raise money and build a network of contacts, but obviously the more nefarious goal was to entrap people into their web.
Just because someone (like Trump) was in their contact book doesn’t mean that they actually got lured in to anything seedy.
The only argument I would pose to what you said is that if they maintained a large list of contacts (as any business or organization would), then it’s also feasible that they logged who they had transactions with, and who they traveled with.
HOWEVER... They probably kept those records much much more guarded, and anticipated the possibility of being investigated or even charged. So it’s not a surprise that they may not have been discovered.
Look at the MSDNC and CNN Youtube Channels. All Epstein, all the time. It’s like they’re hearing about this for the first time and it’s not a 5 year old story. They are obviously excited because they think they got the Trump base to turn on Trump so they are all in on this story now. They aren’t even mentioning anyone related to Epstein who isn’t Trump so yes, it’s a total hoax. it is based on something real but the best hoaxes always are.

They want to focus everything on Epstein who has been dead for six years.
They want to ignore everything they did to try to bring down President Trump.
The contact list is already out there. The only way to remove suspicion from the innocent and more-or-less innocent is to charge a few guilty ones.
Do you really, honestly, think Trump would be working this hard to block the Epstein papers if his name were not all over them??
“””Do you really, honestly, think Trump would be working this hard to block the Epstein papers if his name were not all over them??””””
Do you honestly believe the democrats wouldn’t have released everything if his name was all over them?
I have read that there are maybe 100,000 pages of documents in the Epstein File and no doubt a lot of people are mentioned in them, most having nothing to do with sex-trafficking at all. Just people he knew or knew him socially.
So I would just go on and release all of it. It will take the media who knows how long to go through all of it.
I suspect Trump is playing them. They think he’s implicated, so they keep demanding he release them. Finally, he says, ok, fine, here you go. And it’s all about Clinton and the other big shots we basically already know about.
