A former CVS worker who fatally stabbed a shoplifter inside a Midtown store burst into tears after a Manhattan jury acquitted him of a manslaughter charge Thursday – then tore into the prosecutors who brought the case.
A sobbing Scotty Enoe, 48, mouthed “thank you” to jurors after they took just 20 minutes to find him not guilty in the July 2023 death of Charles Brito.
...
The jury convicted the Grenada-born cooler stocker of a lower weapons count for possessing a set of brass knuckles on the night of the fatal stabbing, but he’s not expected to face any jail time on that charge.
Afterward, Enoe ripped Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s office for bringing him to trial. “People are on drugs and just harassing people and doing whatever they want, they get away with it, but the minute you stand up for yourself, the prosecutors want to put you in jail,” Enoe told The Post.
...
He took the stand in his own defense and testified that he acted in self defense to protect himself and his coworkers from a “crazy” man who had just “beat the s–t” out of him with his fists.
“He just beat the s–t out of me, I couldn’t fight this guy with my bare hands,” Enoe told jurors.
...
Prosecutors had argued at trial that Enoe stabbed Brito as an act of “revenge” for first punching him in the face during a scuffle inside the West 49th St and Broadway store.
“You do not get to stab someone to death just because they punched you in the face,”
“He did not stab Mr Enoe in his chest eight times to protect anyone … he did it for revenge,”

Brass knuckles are illegal in New York?
This guy should have gotten off.
NYC is filled with liberal crazies.
“You do not get to stab someone to death just because they punched you in the face,”
Why not?
Alvin Briggs... part of Soros’ cronies.. their understanding of law is to punish everyone who dares to stand up against the thugs and to give rewards to the thugs...
"Kilvinski's Law, if a dude uses his fist, you use your stick. If he uses a stick you use your gun."
Something is seriously wrong with todays judicial system. People are being prosecuted for protecting themselves or others, while criminals are being released on no baild and allowed to commit atrocities against citizens.
Something is seriously wrong with todays judicial system.
Indeed, the arrogance of judges. Some should be prosecuted for their protecting sex trafficking. At least 1 federal FISA judge should be prosecuted for not proceeding with due diligence when signing off (approving) the continuation of the fraud committed by the DoJ, FBI, Brennan, Clapper, et al.
Ever notice how people act at gun shows? Coincidence?
The author Heinlein has a point: “An armed society, is a polite society.”
In the bigger picture, when everyone knows everyone else can fight back, and even the smallest women is basically just as powerful as the biggest man (irony that the leftist opposes this), the citizen is just as powerful as the cop, people begin to speak and act with manners, respecting the others space, avoiding situations or places where one might have problems...
This only needs to happen a few times and you'll see dramatic changes.
This is truly bizarro world.
The right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.
Jury nullification might be a factor here.
A jury trial is and always should have the law on trial, in addition to the defendant
You summed it up perfectly.
damned straight !
Commies love criminals and hate the general public.
Nailed it.
How about any infringement, or even discussion, on 2nd the second amendment results in auto revocation of abortions.
whats the end game?
Once society is broken, they, being the saviors of “the working man” will ride in and save the day, and establish a “fair and equitable” society.
From each according to there ability, to each according to their need, of course!
Anarcho-tyranny is the term you are looking for.
“Enoe spent nearly a week at Rikers Island after his arrest, and was released only after his new employer, drink distributor Big Geyser, helped him make his $100,000 bail.”
First I heard of something like that. Very CLASSY of Big Geyser.
