I’d say it’s in the best interests of your country if you’re allowed to trade with us.
Well, he will likely turn out to be that kind of real disappointment in spite of all of the CBC happy talk here.
Why would other countries be running to Canada?? 75% of their trade is with the USA....cuz....wait for this...we’re right next door.
Wow, Carney is a man of his people.
negotiation is fun if both parties understand the rules of negotiation.
I think Trump is having fun, the Canadians, not so much.
Dude? Your country IS ON FIRE! Literally!
How about doing something about THAT for those of us south of your BURNING LANDSCAPE dealing with the smoke and the overcast skies blocking out the SUN while we’re trying to grow some FOOD down here?
And the missed thing here is that Carney is only willing to sign a trade agreement if it benefits Canada. Isn’t that what Trump is trying to do while he’s balancing the trade deficit we have with them. Our major trading commodity with Canada is petroleum. If Trump opens up ANWR and the Rockies that will make Canada the third largest trading market. Being fair trade is what trading is all about. Not taking advantage of the US like Canada has ben doing for years. The U.S. goods trade deficit with Canada was $63.3 billion in 2024 alone.

Best interest for Canada would be to not have 10% unemployment and a deep recession. So good luck with that.
Excluding Alberta, of course.
The liberals have not had the best interest of Canada as their goal in decades. It’s all about power that leads to personal graft.
Carney will do what he’s told to... Always has, always will.
Lol.
Every year Canada has fires that burn that are the size of the state of WI...or larger.
Been that way for years.
And, sometimes it burns in areas of forests that cover permafrost. The result is the release of vast amounts of carbon that continues for years. Why? Because of constant thawing of those areas from the lack of shade provided by the spruce forests. Once they burn, no more forests to shade.
The people who voted for him don’t understand what a poor negotiating position he is in. They are in for a shock
...... which will be whatever Trump demands
It reminds me of the Seinfeld episode where George Costanza plays hardball and settles for less than what the original offer was.
Yes. Canada can’t compete on a level (tariff) trading field. Hooray President Trump!
Is The Barker a Brit or not?
I favor completely crushing the Canadian economy. Socialists cannot learn but from a HARSH lesson.
So, elbows, what, akimbo?
