In the old days, media being sued for inaccuracy was embarrassing and most media would support the industry and not report the suits. They were seen as embarrassing and admitting that false news was possible.
Now, it seems that news media want to be sued so they can gain the support of their faction of the public. The media seems to want to relish and call attention to their role as the victim.

What a jerk. Newsom has been repeatedly slapped down - he thinks state law trumps federal law - except when the Democrats are in control, then it’s local, state and lastly federal law. Exactly backwards.
He was recently slapped down when he challenged Trump’s calling in the National Guard to help quell riots in Los Angeles, Newsom claimed that only HE was in control of the National Guard.
He also got slapped down concerning the train to nowhere, the massive boondoggle high speed rail project - 17 years and not a single inch of track has been laid down. The feds cut off his funds, Thank God.
Idiot has no clue about American law - or economics 101 for that matter - nor does his toady, state AG Bonta, who files these lawsuits for Newsom.
