Were they lying then, or are they lying now?
Trump Defunds Heroes! Film at 11.
Before Reagan was elected, I loved NPR; listening to it was one of the few bright spots in my unhappy days.
After Reagan was elected, I began to notice the anti-Reagan bias, which started growing before he took office, and only got worse over time. By then I had discovered National Review, and so was sensitized to "media bias," but the rate at which it went from subtle, to obvious, to incessant and annoying, greatly increased after 1981.
After 1985 or so, I stopped listening to NPR at all, except occasionally Diane Rehm. Sometime in the early 90s, I completely stopped listening to them. Couldn't stand them.
I used to enjoy listening to the local NPR classical music station, but they had Lefty news every hour and I finally stopped listening. Then I discovered Rush.
Fund Elmo or we’re all going to die!
Before Rush, National Review was all there was.
I know Buckley was on PBS, but I found his presentation style annoying, and never watched him.
The 1 cent coin....soon to be discontinued like NPR.
Amazingly, they will cope.
The big-money progressives will not allow one of their main propaganda outlets to go broke. But it will use up some progressive money that would have gone to other evil pursuits.
Leave to the treasonous a-holes at AP to dig up an extreme fringe outlier example to paint a sob story
Oh, the huge manatee🤣🤣🤣! Notice this story is coming from AP. Who does NPR/PBS source the most? AP!!
The Red Cross receives NO federal funding and look what that organization is able to do.
And none of it involves sitting around producing oral diarrhea and spreading propaganda either.
IIRC, Joan Kroc gave NPR $225M in her will. Drop in the bucket, probably.
NPR drives out other AM/FM stations because the Feds heavily subsidizes NPR.
If NPR has to shutdown, a private radio station will take over.
“NPR drives out other AM/FM stations because the Feds heavily subsidizes NPR.”
NPR receives about 1% of its funding from the feds.
The member stations, about 10%.
They’ll be fine. They serve a vital function. Their donors have billions.
Right? I haz a sadz. Not for Elmo because he’s outted himself as an anti-semitic commie but for those poor, redneck, backwoods, terbacky chewing flyovers....how will they ever cope without “weather alerts” and “free” leftist propaganda (that they never tune in to)?
Radio stations in Unalaska:

There are five stations, although two look to be repeaters.
They should do away with the nickel, too.
