President Trump has been diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency, a blood circulation issue, after noticing “mild swelling in his lower legs,” White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt revealed Thursday.
Leavitt made the surprise disclosure while addressing conjecture about recent bruising on Trump’s hands, which she said was assessed to be “minor soft tissue irritation from frequent handshaking and the use of aspirin” as a preventative heart-health measure.
“In the effort of transparency, the president wanted me to share a note from his physician with all of you today,” Leavitt said.
“In recent weeks, President Trump noted mild swelling in his lower legs, in keeping with routine medical care, and out of an abundance of caution, this concern was thoroughly evaluated by the White House medical unit,” she read.
“The president underwent a comprehensive examination, including diagnostic vascular studies, bilateral lower extremity, venous doppler ultrasounds were performed and revealed chronic venous insufficiency… a common condition, particularly in individuals over the age of 70.”

Edema. Get ff the diet sodas and drink water. Ankles that swollen are usually a sign of CHF.
Need iodized salt. Sea salt usually doesn’t have it.
Love that positive attitude!
I had swelling. Doppler showed DVT in my thigh, most likely due to hip replacement surgery. I’ll be on Eliquis ($$$$!🤯) “life-long”.
Someone was slacking when polishing that left shoe.
Mom had congestive heart failure and the swollen ankles that go with it. She was just short of her 100th birthday when she died.
“Compression socks suck,”
I could say that having to wear compression stockings after hip surgeries was maybe the worst parts of the whole process. I would cry due to discomfort.
“”””recent bruising on Trump’s hands, which she said was assessed to be “minor soft tissue irritation from frequent handshaking””””
And that is why Biden would regularly wander around the stage shaking hands with the air. Biden did not want to bruise his hands.
How do you make McDonalds healthier?
“Need iodized salt. Sea salt usually doesn’t have it.”
There are plenty of foods that contain iodine.
Less Diet Coke, more water. Try a different diuretic.
Yes taking a zinc supplement (50mg) stopped it within 3 months. However I think Wuli’s post #28 is probably correct. There can be multiple reasons for the same symptoms. The only reason the zinc stopped it would be because I was zinc deficient. Others may have other reasons.
BTW - 50mg zinc is a high dose. I only did that for a year. I’ve since dropped it to 30mg. It’s been a year and a half and the vein problems and brown stains on my legs have not returned.
He needs to lose weight.
Needs a crate of walnuts and some turmeric with black pepper.
Thanks for your well-considered reply.
I’m not sure how much iodine is in a big mac and fries, unless they use ionized salt.
“I’m not sure how much iodine is in a big mac and fries, unless they use ionized salt.”
I suppose you think such banality is profound.
The White House chefs are the best in the country. They don’t do big macs.
“”Actually, my father lived exactly 20 years after his CHF diagnosis.””
I don’t think that’s unheard of. I’ve known some people who have had that diagnosis and while it sounds (to me) almost like an immediate end of life, they have lived a long time...one raked leaves, shoveled snow (off his roof) and driveway/sidewalks. It always amazed me he never cut back on anything and lived into his 90’s. Maybe it was because that particular person was very stubborn..Others weren’t as active but lived long lives regardless of the diagnosis.
Personal attacks are really not necessary.
“Nobody should demand it, we should do it voluntarily . . or else . . . you’re one of them.”

One of what? A rational thinker?
BTW, Trump also has significant unexplained hand bruising. There’s more than varicose veins involved.
Mr. Robinson asks us to break contact rather than get involved in an online argument, so I won’t be responding to you any longer. Bye!
