There used to be a YouTube channel of two guys who would tour China on motorbikes and post travelogues. They would show Chinese buildings only a few years old where the concrete was crumbling. Buildings aren’t square and things don’t line up. Towns 20 years old look like they’ve been in a war. The CCP covers up reporting of the bridges and buildings that collapse, killing thousands each year.
I’ve noticed lately there have been a lot of travel videos, etc, even Bald And Bankrupt, who have been going around praising China.
They have to praise China .. or else.
The floods everywhere including the US are due to the undersea volcano eruption near Tonga that blasted an unimaginable amount of water into the stratosphere.

Gotta get The Message into every story. It sure would have been nice for one of those "experts" to say something like, "Hey, Chang, that's some really crappy concrete you're pouring right there." And we wouldn't be having this conversation.
For modern Chinese, if it is possible to steal and cheat, why not? In a society built on the dogmatic materialism of communism, such calculations are about the risk of being caught and punished. This has led to faults in much of their infrastructure, and even in prized military assets and equipment.
