DOJ says ICE will begin Kilmar Abrego Garcia's deportation to third country if released from jail

The Department of Justice said that U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement will begin Kilmar Abrego Garcia's deportation to a third country if he is released from jail while awaiting trial on human smuggling charges in Tennessee.

Justice Department attorney Jonathan Guynn told a federal judge Monday that Abrego Garcia would be deported to an unnamed third country, other than his native El Salvador, FOX5 DC reported. Last month, DOJ officials and the White House said that Abrego Garcia would stand trial in the U.S. and potentially serve prison time before facing deportation.

U.S. District Judge Paula Xinis for the District of Maryland, an Obama appointee, scheduled a Thursday hearing for federal officials to detail possible next steps if Abrego Garcia is released from custody. She said that efforts to determine Abrego Garcia's fate have been "like trying to nail Jello to a wall."

Abrego Garcia emerged as a focal point of the Trump administration's crackdown on illegal immigration, after he was deported to El Salvador despite a court order that allowed him to remain in the country for his own safety. He was returned to the U.S. last month.

Last week, a federal judge in Tennessee delayed Abrego Garcia's release from jail again amid concern from his legal team that he would be deported by ICE officials if released pending his trial.

Federal prosecutors allege Abrego Garcia transported hundreds of illegal migrants over many years, but he has pleaded not guilty to all charges.

Judge wants Immigration official to testify on Thursday (under oath) what the plans are. Tell her to pound sand - โ€œWeโ€™ll cross that bridge when we get to itโ€

This is all just virtue signaling. No legal foundation here. He is an illegal alien. He has zero chance at staying here. This woman should lose her job.

If El Salvador was not to the good gentleman’s liking, how about Kazakhstan?

“This woman should lose her job.”
******************************
And so should Pam Blondie. That woman is a total idiot and messed this whole thing up. Never should have brought him back for some stupid trial which she would probably lose. When they brought him back, they should have immediately deported him to a country that would take him. Now we’ll have to go through 50 rogue judges to get him the hell outta here.

Aren’t you glad you got brought back Abrego? Now it’s either prison or better start learning Arabic for your paid vacation in South Sudan.

What a quandry for that criminal loving jjudge. The IS says he is going to South Sudan after any trial or sentence (no way he gets convicted as he is a hero of the democrats). So does the judge keep him in jail to protect him from deportation? Or does the judge free him knowing he is deported to a bigger s hole that him home country.

South Sudan looks like good alternative.
But why not to his Native El Salvador.
The only stated reason, why they cannot remove illegals to their country of citizenship was, that their country refused to take them back!
But president Bukele would love to take him back!
