A Texas police officer was shot in the neck late Thursday night during an apparent coordinated attack outside an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detention facility, according to authorities.
Just before 11 p.m., officers from the Alvarado Police Department responded to reports of a suspicious person near the Prairieland ICE Detention Facility in Alvarado, Texas, CBS News reported. Upon arrival, officers encountered what appeared to be an armed individual, and when one officer attempted to engage, several suspects allegedly opened fire and struck the officer in the neck, police said
The officer was airlifted to a hospital in Fort Worth, treated, and later released, Alvarado police said.
Law enforcement said multiple armed suspects were taken into custody after attempting to flee. A federal source told CBS News that eight people were arrested, with some reportedly wearing body armor. Officials are still investigating a motive.
Early reporting suggests more than a dozen masked individuals dressed in black arrived at the ICE facility, vandalized vehicles and surveillance equipment, and launched fireworks — allegedly to draw law enforcement into a trap, CBS reported. Local officers, alongside the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office, responded and helped apprehend the suspects.

Ambush attacks on police are a return to the bad old days of the Weather Underground, SDS, all the other pop up terrorists of the time.
It’s definitely a bad sign.
We are at war. Stay strapped.

Also all Democrat groups.
Didn’t Obama have some of them in his administration?
Whoa, hold on!
I’m happy the officer is ok but I work in a hospital.
This guy was AIRLIFTED and then he’s discharged?!
Damn. Either this guy is Iron Man or the hospital screwed up.
Being airlifted somewhere is about as serious as it gets.
Or neither option.
he could have been nicked in the neck. A tough dude nevertheless
Antifa needs to be declared as unauthorized domestic armed enemy combatants and immdiately stopped.
My hospital is in southern NJ, it serves as a kind of jail/medical complex with the only other forensic crime lab in the state, there is the county jail a mile away and we have armed security in the building. I've been attacked by patients, staff, visitors and I've had to intervene on occasion to stop patients from attacking our staff. And I'm just a mop jockey! Another year and I'm out. This is getting to be too much. People are nuts.
True but you have to understand what is involved in a ‘’medical airlift flight’’(’’med flight’’).
Believe me you’d think it were a space launch.
And expensive as heck.
Yep, I had a relative airlifted from one hospital to another about an hour away. this was many years ago. the cost was very high.
Maybe the people on the ground thought he was worse than he was.
“ANTIFA needs to be declared a terrorist organization.”
Like Open Season?
Is there a bag limit?
All T has to do is call out the militia. They’ve been around longer than the United States. They helped create it.
Believe me dear when anything gets to the point that you have to be airlifted, it’s very serious.
The people involved in this at every step are extremely dedicated but if they don’t have to fly you somewhere, trust me they’d rather not have to do it. At this hospital the Atlantic is two miles up the road and I’m sure winds can be a problem for these pilots.
We’re just a community hospital, no where near the capacity of a larger facility in a big city but things happen fast and move fast here as in any ER.
Time is of the essence, Americans don’t like to wait, lives are on the line; we know we need to ‘’hustle it’’ when we have to and there’s no time for talking.
Sometimes I will admit, in a weird way, it’s exciting.
This is all going in a bad direction a lot faster than I thought it would. Let’s see what ICE and the police do going forward. No further comment.
