The holdouts who didnโt want to vote for it were holding out until the last minute to see if their vote is needed.
I think both are from districts Harris carried, so Speaker Johnson likely asked them to wait to see if needed(1 no, 1 not voting)

It depends on the constituency of the voters; moderate Republicans who win Democrat districts can sometimes survive with 50/50 votes and are useful. There is no hope for Thomas Massie, and limited hope for Rand Paul. (judges). They have no valid excuse to vote for Democrats or the Iranian regime.

Spartz of IN, Clyde of GA & Self of TX all shifted to YEA, WildHighlander57.
The only two GOP NAYs turned out to be Massie of KY & Fitzpatrick of PA

I think you’re referring to MI Rep. Lisa McClain (she was standing front & center during the victory presser)

The house and Senate can do a second reconciliation bill in the fall if they want to.
i’ve heard that.
with RINO’s controlling both it’s hard to see getting budgets cut......probably better for Trump to support a constitutional convention for a balanced budget amendment.
To: CarolinaReaganFan
No to a constitutional convention. It is impossible to predict what could happen at such an event, regardless of what the rules are going in. We are much better off, sticking to the constitution our founders gave us.
To: edie1960
Thank you! Yes she was front and center.

We’ll have to disagree .the constitutional convention is allowed in our constitution. It doesn’t matter if they pass a bunch of runaway crap because all it is doing is bypassing our do-nothing congress. Any amendment they cc passed would still have to be ratified by 38 states which is a difficult thing.
garbage couldn’t get thru that.

One TV reporter said some in the GOP were at restaurants, a few went home to Virginia.
He allowed himself to say “Sometimes the arguments get harsh later after hours of disputes and if some have had an opportunity to have a few drinks and return.”
That explains a lot. ๐ธ๐น๐ธ๐น๐ธ๐น๐ธ๐น
