News - whats true & what fake news?

I too have been guilty of passing something around that turns out to be false news/information. People pass wrong info for no other reason to cause trouble

Our sister. The Mom. Wifec f deceased Freeper Eaker. Posted some tragic news. Her son her only child was killed by a neighbor. You may know a few years ago her husband, the Eaker committed suicide. Think what you will about him. She was a very, very special lady. I feel so helpless to help. I feel so angry and frustrated about the situation.

My parents periodical magazines growing up Prevention and Organic Gardening

They were required reading for the genteel counterculture in our roommate abode in the late 60s, along with Adele Davis's books on nutrition:

Let's Cook it Right (1947)
Let's Have Healthy Children (1951, 1972)
Let's Eat Right to Keep Fit (1954, 1970)
Let's Get Well (1965)

How I wish I had kept my copies. I loaned them enthusiastically, especially Let's Get Well -- her ideas were such a revelation to those of us raised in the post-WW2 rise of BigAg, BigFood, and BigPharm.

My dad loved hot dogs and my mom fixed them for dinner every Friday in the 50s. An hour later, I would have nausea and a pounding headache, and I was scolded and told I was faking. I would later learn from Davis that processed meats then were loaded with nitrites and nitrates. and I hadn't been faking or lying.

Another thing I learned from her was about probiotics, although she didn't call them that. I made my own yogurt following her directions for many years.

Good luck, Dolly with your tinctures and salves classes—I'm tempted to the sin of envy. Wish I could have kept up better with the best parts of my back-to-the-earth semi-hippie days, but still do take carefully researched and calibrated vitamins and minerals. Never took the covid vax and survived, thank you very much!

Oh no . I’m so sorry for her loss. It’s unimaginable. I loved Eaker and was devastated by his death. TheMom mailed me her daughter’s prom dress which one of my daughters wore to a homecoming dance. What a horrible thing. My prayers are with her.
