From cattle to rodents - that’s a good working dog!
I thought about getting an Australian Shepherd ones. Thought it might be fun to have something that would round up the cats. And I don’t think they have quite as much energy as a border collie.

I had a Border Collie twenty years ago. Her Name was Torey, and she should have been a candidate for a degree in Electrical Engineering.
She was able to disable an electric fence without even having opposing thumbs.

Well, we should have got a lap dog, but we got a border collie. So I guess that means God wants us to exercise more and is teaching us patience, cause the border collie sure doesnt have any.

I knew I didn’t want a border collie when I read that they have to have a job. And if you don’t give them one, they will find their own. Not necessarily something you want them to do either!
That sounded way too smart for me to deal with.

My cottage neighbor had two border collies and they were a handful. One of them was not too bad, but the other would not listen. He wouldn’t come when he was called, jumped up on people, just did what he wanted and ignored all commands. Lol they found out after two years that he was deaf.

Yup they need a job, our job is to watch her run around, if not she sulks or just stares at the window till we come out. I think she thinks she is doing a job by prancing about the yard back and forth. Wants to obey commands on her schedule, strong willed.
