May I jump in?
Stylin, have you tried putting ice on it?

20 minutes should do it.
( I used Aspercreme after that on my bad knee.
It works great and it doesn’t have the smell
that Ben Gay has!)

Don’t put the ice directly on your skin..
Put a small towel between it and you!
It WILL get better, but it takes time.

(GENTLE HUG AND CHASTE SMOOCH)

Our rain is scheduled for Wednesday. We can use it. I may not sing and dance in it, but I enjoy sitting in a warm house looking at it.

Oh ouch! That’s a big recovery time, I hear! Be gentle with yourself.

So threatening the right that it’ll meet the same fate as the left isn’t working? Bummer! I’d bet the right is getting more stress than usual now - hopefully it’ll settle down as your left knee can be used more.

Any history buffs on board?
This is kinda neat, and there are other sites you can follow
at the site:

Fascinating stuff!

Good song, I remember being at a ELP concert in San Fran in about 1972. Good stuff. They had some large baloon like thing that they threw out into the audience that was attached to the mood synthesizer and made sounds every time you rubbed and hit it. Was pretty fun to watch. The music was very good, a little jazz and classical infused.

Lucky bum!
That musta been so cool!
Sir Publius. have you ever seen ELP
in concert?

Glad you like the tune, norsky.
Great to see you!
All is well at your new abode, I hope?

I've never been to a rock concert. Who is ELP?

I've been to hundreds of classical music concerts, and one Ray Charles/BB King concert at the Hollywood Bowl, but not rock.

yup, new abode is as solid as a fort, like my neighbor says who saw it built in 89, very well maintained, lucky we are, nice neighbors too. I was in the Navy as a Corpsman and stationed at the Oakland Naval Hospital from 71 till 73. Got to see quite a few concerts at Bill Grahams theater in Frisco. Pink Floyd, Yes, Santana, etc. I guess I was trying to be a hippy while I was in the Navy, didn’t work so well.

Emison Lake and Palmer, I believe some had a classical background and it definitely blended into their music quite well, very good musicians.

thanx.
I adiosed the walker and cane the first day home.
The V.A. is my health care provider. They gave me an "ice" machine. I use it every other day or so trying to control\reduce swelling.
Fill part with water, fill the rest with iced small water bottles (rather than ice)

something like this:

I was told to anticipate and stay ahead of the pain.
I also use lidocaine patches and extra strength tylenol before I play golf.
And every now and then hydrocodone.

My rehab is over thursday - 3 months worth...the rest is up to me to continue. Every day the pain is a tad less.

I am going to try and get away with cortisone shots on the right knee.

thanx again.

It’s amazing how these people even survived. Much less migrated 3,000 miles.

I imagine not! Didn’t go with the uniform or haircut :)

I’ve heard of those but have never seen one or how it works. Thanks for the explanation.

*HUG*

It’s not an easy surgery to recover from, huh?
The knee id a weight bearing joint!
Glad to see they sent you home with an ice machine.

*WARNING*
No matter how tempting it may be, do NOT put
heat on your knee.
It will swell up like a son-a-ma-gun if you do!
Don’t ask me how I know this!
*evil grin*

Eeee...no wonder you’re grouchy. Though, my 88 is waaaaaay out of season! No rain, all sunshine. Would you believe, I’m tired of sunshine. LOL!

Let’s balance them out an both take 60s for now. Does that sound fair?
