Carville calls socialist's victory in NYC mayoral primary a 'potentially damaging event' for Democratic Party

Veteran strategist warns Zohran Mamdani's win could damage party nationwide after shocking defeat of Andrew Cuomo

Veteran strategist James Carville warned on Wednesday how democratic socialist Zohran Mamdani winning the New York City mayoral primary may be a burden for the Democratic Party.

Mamdani, a Ugandan-born New York State Assemblyman from Queens, caused a major upset by defeating former Gov. Andrew Cuomo in the race to become the Democratic Party’s nominee for New York City mayor. Republicans and some Democrats have blasted Mamdani, warning he is a grim sign of America’s political future.

Carville, one of the most famous strategists in American politics, has been speaking about the Democratic Party’s need to ditch far-left politics since well before the 2024 election. He spoke about Mamdani's surprising victory on his podcast, warning it may be yet another hurdle for struggling Democrats.

The strategist noted that Mamdani "has not walked back" calls for "global infitada" [sic]. Carville was referencing how Mamdani refused to disavow the phrase "Globalize the intifada," which pro-Israeli supporters argue is a call for violence, and Israel opponents tout as a mere call to struggle against oppression.

"Maybe he’ll turn out to be a very skilled candidate that can skillfully navigate some of what I refer to as ‘esoteric’ positions," Carville said, appearing to refer to Mamdani’s policy of government-run grocery stores, which bewildered the seasoned strategist.

Carville himself doesn’t know what Carville thinks. He’s all over the map. The only thing that remains constant is that he’s always angry.

>>Poor Jim. He spent the 1990s creating a winning centrist Democrat coalition that is being pulled sharply left and destroyed in his old age.

Carville doesn’t care about centrist. He just wants his party to win and was at least smart enough to realize that running as a centrist was the politically smart move at the time. He was also received the gift of Ross Perot’s candidacy, which made his job easier.

NY can do any damn thing they want, but not one federal dollar for their clever plan.

Carville is likely the top political strategist of a generation. His momma didn’t raise no fool.

What Carville is starting to think that the democratic party has finally lost him.

NYC is playing with fire. Their state borders a red state that has red-state taxes. It’s 70 miles from NYC to E. Stroudsburg, and 100 to Philly. More and more I see cars with NY plates here in southeast PA, people who I presume have reached their breaking point. PA is on par with Texas when it comes to cost of living.

Another day, another Democrat whack-job.

But I’m sure the MSM, Social Media, and Hollywood can somehow put a positive spin on it, or censor and suppress derogatory information.

My. Mayor Adam’s as reticent as he seems to be now, ushered in the 40% foreign born voting in NYC. Santiago state. While racing down to the Biden WH to beg a stop to it his chief of staff’s home was raided by the FBI

It’s a metaphor. The place my grandfather built- he worked to put up the Gargoyles on the Chrysler Building, and my great Grandfather built- he designed, manufactured and placed the ornamental plastering at Radio City Music Hall, where my other Great grandfather was a captain of the FDNY and where my sisters were married in some of the great churches and from where Cardinal OConnor called out home the day my father died- he had been humid chaplain in at the Naval academy will be run down into a third world disaster

A woman I knew a fabulous New Yorker with a fabulous cozy grand New York apartment she lived in for 60 years, the widow of an illustrious New York staple of the Stock Exchange said to me on the phone, when her brother died at 88 years old - ‘well that’s one less democrat voter’

He famously called central PA “Alabama”, but living in PA I’d say that he was very wrong. The Amish aren’t the only people in PA with German descent: a quarter of the state’s population does. The area around Philly might be overwhelmingly Irish, but when you get into the interior it becomes much more German. It’s why every fifth town seems to end in “-burg” and you can **always** get sauerkraut for your hot dog. To me, central PA is more of a “Bavarian countryside” conservatism than Alabaman.

The sad reality is that 80% of Dim voters get their news from faithful Dim run MSM, and will never be told the truth. So, to their voters everything is fine. They will never be told the things that Carville knows. They will remain ignorant. Count on it.
