City of Lawton, U.S. Army Fort Sill cancel Army birthday parade due to security threats

LAWTON, Okla. (KFOR) — The City of Lawton and U.S. Army Fort Sill announced Thursday evening the cancellation of this year’s Army Birthday Parade due to what they say are credible security threats.

In a social media post, the City of Lawton said they coordinated with the Lawton Police Department and Fort Sill leadership to decide on the cancellation of the parade, which was originally scheduled to take place on Saturday, June 14.

On a side note, I pass these morons every Thursday out with their No-War signs (weather permitting, of course) and I had them in their own group, not as part of the other groups mentioned above. I thought they might have been people like Quakers who might have actually been fundamentally against war, even though my experience with Leftists tells me that their driving force would be ideology, not Religion.

But they were always near a church (albeit one that has a giant "BLACK LIVES MATTER" banner hanging above their "Church". But I passed them yesterday, and some of them had the "NoKings" signs. So they are just the same people then as all the others:

I spent a lot of time at Fort Sill in my early years in the Army. I had a great grand uncle who joined Col. Ranald Slidell Mackenzie’s Fourth Cavalry in January 1876 and ended up at Fort Sill in March 1876. Sill is not what it used to be. The Indians used to come to Sill to watch the various military ceremonies on the Parade Grounds on post back in the day.
