Loved ones are heartbroken after a Southern California mother was detained and deported after a routine immigration hearing.
Maria Valeriano Perez, 52, is a mother of three children who has lived in the U.S. for 35 years. She had been working as a custodian in Ventura County for years.
Her family said she attended an immigration appointment on June 4 and, instead of receiving an update on her case, she was immediately handcuffed and taken into custody by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

I put ‘Dreamers’ in a similar category - they have had plenty of time to become naturalized citizens.
Maybe she could “put some ice on it”.
You KNOW she has gotten Medicaid, Section 8 and SNAP benefits at the very least for THIRTY FIVE YEARS.
Those government employees just LOVE to give away the taxpayers money. It is almost bizarre because they are ADAMANT that illegals get these undeserved and unearned benefits and money.
A former student I went to school with married an Indian man from England. He eventually brought his family over and I remember her saying they needed to sign forms promising not to get govt benefits, that they could support themselves. First thing they did was to sign up for Medicaid and one of the daughters got braces.
