I’ve thought about that (when you’re retired, you’ve got the time). I hate to say it, but I don’t think Gore could have done any worse. And he might have done better.

I voted for Bush II in 2000. Know then what I know now, I would have voted third party. And I did vote third-party in 2004.

Ha, no. But here’s the thing. Bush II had the lessons of Vietnam right before him: LBJ didn’t let our military do its job. He micromanaged everything. His young “Wiz Kids” thought they knew more than seasoned diplomats and combat commanders. Etc.

And so that war was lost.

Bush II ignored all the lessons of the Vietnam debacle. He went ahead, and made most of LBJ’s mistakes.

Don’t get me wrong. LBJ was evil, complete trash. Not so with Bush II. Unfortunately, the war results are still the same.
