EU treating Keir Starmer 'like a fool' after refusing plea to fight small boat crossings

Conservatives say Sir Keir Starmer has been “taken for a fool” by Brussels after it emerged the European Union has rejected British pleas for access to migration data which was supposed to be a central part of Labour’s Brexit “reset”. The Government will resume detailed work this week on a new EU deal in preparation for a major summit on May 19, after negotiations were suspended in the run-up to local elections. But the EU has turned down requests for an information-sharing scheme which the UK believes would prove invaluable in the fight against organised crime and small boat crossings.

The Prime Minister insisted last year: “I’m absolutely clear that when it comes to cross-border crime, particularly people smuggling, the more we can share the better.” However, Brussels has told Sir Keir that the EU will not share information such as the fingerprints of illegal migrants with British police and immigration officials.

Shadow Home Secretary Chris Philp said: “2025 is already spiralling into the worst year on record for illegal Channel crossings, and Labour are standing by, paralysed, clueless, and without a plan.

I think Winston Churchill would know how to hande the situation. And he would not need to consult with any other leaders in Europe.

The UK is over-ripe and nearly 100% rotten to the core. Friggin people drank the DEI kool-aid and are going the way of every small-time totalitarian nation.

What kind of idiot looks at that clueless, lipless, child molesting looking, drip and thinks “he’s got my vote”? You really have to be retarded and desperate if you would pick that human garbage as your leader. Same with Canada.

I think Winston Churchill would know how to handle the situation. And he would not need to consult with any other leaders in Europe. Attack the Balkans?

--- "...the European Union has rejected British pleas for access to migration data which was supposed to be...."

All one need do is post guards at the coast, turn the boats around, back to where they came from. In days, the whole mess would be over.

Starmer is using the EU "data" stuff as a costume to hide his "replace the native British" policies.

Well, if it walks like a fool, talks like a fool and acts like a fool, then it is a fool.

Can’t their cost guard threaten to harpoon these inflatable boats?

My guess is it has nothing to do with not being able to stop them and much more to do with not wanting to stop them.

Balkans?
"we shall fight on the seas and oceans ... we shall defend our Island, whatever the cost may be, we shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills ..."

This is not hard. Just immediately summarily repatriate any illegal immigrant to his home country with a permanent ban for him ever to return. No hearings, no refugee status, no appeals.

Brussels has never forgiven Brexit and will make the UK an example for anyone thinking of leaving. This is very much about that from their point of view.

Current Royal Navy inventory that might be useful for sealing off the island: 8 frigates, 26 patrol vessels. The rest are either blue water combat ships not suitable for the English Channel or training vessels. That would mean a reliance on air assets - helicopters (under 300) and fixed-wing patrol craft with a weather dependency.

The Chunnel would also be have to be subjected to a far more intensive search at its British terminus. It is not expected that the French will be overly enthusiastic about sealing their end off as they don't want their camps to fill up with criminals either. All of this could be done - difficult and expensive, yes, with reprioritization of funding toward defense - sorry, defence - but not in the absence of a full political commitment to make it happen. That's what's lacking.

Exactly. But Churchill was not trying to destroy Great Britain, and Starmer is.
