AG Pam Bondi Seeks Death Penalty for Luigi Mangione
Breitbart ^ | 04/01/2025 | Simon Kent

Posted on 04/01/2025 8:41:39 AM PDT by ChicagoConservative27

Attorney General Pam Bondi on Tuesday directed federal prosecutors to seek the death penalty against Luigi Mangione, the man accused of gunning down UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson outside a Manhattan hotel in December, 2024.

Mangione, 26, faces separate federal and state murder charges for the killing. The federal charges include a charge of murder through use of a firearm, which carries the possibility of the death penalty.

“Luigi Mangione’s murder of Brian Thompson — an innocent man and father of two young children — was a premeditated, cold-blooded assassination that shocked America,” Bondi said in a statement, as seen by AP.

“After careful consideration, I have directed federal prosecutors to seek the death penalty in this case as we carry out President Trump’s agenda to stop violent crime and Make America Safe Again.”

there are other methods to address the problem

Sure, but those methods are never actually enacted.

Cold-blooded murder is still a crime.

So is praying outside an abortion clinic.

Thanks for clarifying. I would not want to see assassination of Chuck Schumer or that judge. I would be happy to see Schumer deposed as leader of Democrats or lose an election. But not get shot.

... every day on FR I see people commenting on what various leftists deserve....

You are absolutely right, and I wish it would stop. It really is a terrible reflection on conservatives, and I wish more such comments were deleted.

We might pay some lip service to the idea of law and order, and a fair trial, but most of us would quietly feel that those individuals really brought it on themselves.

The Leftists have already established that violent terrorist activities, including assassinations, are acceptable means of dealing with political opponents and dissidents.

Everybody will hate it when we all play by the same "rules".

That "rule of law" thing was really nice when we had it.

This kind of rage is a natural human response to people getting away with bringing horrors down upon us. When people victimize others--even unto death in some cases--via lawfare or financial shenanigans, and are never stopped or brought to justice, it's a normal response to grow, eventually, to wish they'd just die.

People kid themselves that even good people don't have a dark side. If the law won't act, who can be surprised when this sort of thing happens? Had insurance companies been subject to the kind of rigorous oversight they should be, this kind of rage would not have grown.

You may find it a bit of a stretch, but here is what the official claim to jurisdiction seems to be:

https://www.justice.gov/opa/pr/attorney-general-pamela-bondi-directs-prosecutors-seek-death-penalty-luigi-mangione

The murder was an act of political violence.

https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2025/04/01/ag-pam-bondi-seeks-death-penalty-for-luigi-mangione/

The federal charges include a charge of murder through use of a firearm, which carries the possibility of the death penalty.

It is also a state case, and NY has already obtained an indictment.

Out in LA some cops got in a fight with Rodney King and they ended up facing attempted murder charges decades ago.

The jury gave the thumbs down seeing it as political overkill.

Watch out for the jury in this case the fed prosecutors will really have to stack the deck like they normally do.

President Trump’s agenda to stop violent crime

While I applaud seeking the death penalty for this scum his death won't stop violent crime one bit.

Of course. We all naturally have some pretty nutty fantasies, or wishes. But Mangioni didn't just wish it ... that's the differance.

Lawfare against a future Democratic candidate for President! As least he will be too young to be on the ticket in 2028.

Just joking--they will never nominate him when they have superstars like AOC and Jasmine Crockett available.

All this tough talk but we never see mayors and governors being arrested as sanctuary felons. Typical all talk, no action.

“…directed federal prosecutors to seek the death penalty …”

Yep. Back shooting a guy like that, he needs to go to his Maker. At least he would have a chance to get straight with his maker, something his victim was denied.
