Ousted ‘Squad’ Reps. Cori Bush, Jamaal Bowman claim Dems wanted $10T in spending for doomed Build Back Better bill

Ex-“Squad” Reps. Cori Bush and Jamaal Bowman claimed that Democrats had originally wanted to pass $10 trillion in spending as part of former President Joe Biden’s doomed Build Back Better (BBB) Act.

“We were at 10 [trillion] and then it went down to 6 and down to 3 and down to 1.7, I believe,” Bush said on the “Bowman and Bush” podcast on March 14.

The two were reflecting on the collapse of Biden’s ambitious Build Back Better Act, which called for hundreds of billions of dollars of investments in “social infrastructure” programs such as universal child care, an expansion of the child tax credit, climate change initiatives, and low-cost housing.

“We wanted to make sure that the climate investment was there because many of the groups were saying this isn’t enough on climate … so I was getting attacked for not asking for more,” Bush said.

Over what time period? $10T in one year would never happen (at least today. In 5 years it might be the normal budget...)

$10T over 10 years ($1T/year) is at least feasible.

And in less than 60 days Trump already has trillions of dollars in new investment lined up from private enterprise - accomplished by promising fewer regulations, lower taxes, and tariffs on imports. This should really kill the socialist big government idiocy forever. But they will keep fighting for more control over, well, everything.

Well, then that's about as stupid as California considering close to a Trillion Dollars worth of Reparations when they have an annual budget of $300 billion.

Considering the amount of inflationary damage the $1.7 trillion in spending caused, just imagine what $10 trillion would have done. You better be able to keep your gas furnace with the chimney on it because you will be able to retrofit it to burn money for heat.

Yeah, I assumed that the $10T was in addition to our regular annual budget.

All done in the name of reparations! In the meantime, this urban black culture is destroying civilization. Many blacks just want what anyone wants, a chance without consideration of exterior characteristics. Our ancestors are responsible for their mistakes. We have our own shortcomings to deal with.

I’m guessing 10 years. That’s how they usually do these spending projections. I’m not sure where that extra trillion would come from, though. We already dig ourselves further into the hole by 2 trillion each year.
