After the recent government shutdown vote, Senator John Fetterman (D-PA) offered a three-word response to Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) after she complained about how Senate Democrats handled the deal, criticizing her party for caving to Republican demands and not pushing harder against the funding bill. In a blunt response, Fetterman told his fellow Democrat to "deal with it.” This exchange highlights the ongoing friction within the Democratic Party, where some members like Ocasio-Cortez argue for a tougher stance, while others, like Fetterman, prioritize pragmatic solutions to avoid a shutdown.
On Friday, Fetterman told AOC to “deal with it” after she said that the Democratic Party needs to fight “harder” during a speech.
“‘Fight ‘harder’ – a stunt that would have harmed millions and plunged us into chaos. We kept our government open. Deal with it,” the senator said.
This comes just a week after ten Senate Democrats, including Fetterman, voted to advance a continuing resolution (CR) to prevent a government shutdown. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) also supported the measure. As a result, a divide has emerged within the Democratic Party, with some viewing the vote as a concession to Republicans.
This isn’t the first time Fetterman has found himself at odds with AOC.
Earlier this week, when asked about Ocasio-Cortez's criticisms of him during an appearance on NewsNation, Fetterman responded bluntly, saying, "I hope you can relay how little I care about her views on this.”
The CR vote has sparked a divide within the Democratic Party, with many members publicly criticizing their own colleagues in the aftermath.
Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) said she was “disgusted that several Senate Democrats gave up our first point of leverage” during a town hall event on Thursday.
In addition, Rep. Glenn Ivey (D-Md.) said he was “deeply disappointed” that Schumer voted with Republicans.
“I respect Chuck Schumer. I think he’s had a great, long-standing career. He’s done a lot of great things,” Ivey said. “But I’m afraid that it may be time for the Senate Democrats to pick new leadership as we move forward.”
"Suck it up!"

AOC is packin’ on the pounds. She has to be fat and ugly so she can wear those giant bauble beads the heifer RAT shemales wear.
Lol. AOC comes off as a spoiled dunce, as usual.
He’s better looking than she’ll be down the road.
> AOC comes off as a spoiled dunce, as usual. <
And Fetterman comes across as the Senate version of Bill Maher. Half the time Fetterman makes good sense. And half the time he’s part of the problem.
But I will give Maher and Fetterman credit for one thing. Unlike all their liberal colleagues, they both refuse to explain away Muslim violence. They see that violence for exactly what it is.
AOC seems to think the Democrats would have come out winners if they shutdown the government. AOC would have demanded the end to DOGE and mass deportations before Dems voted for a CR. Trump would have countered with a demand for a trillion in spending cuts and repealing the debt limit. My bet is that Dems would have caved under a 24/7 attack by Trump and Vance.
They got an extension of Biden’s $2T annual deficit budget, but are posturing like this was some huge defeat. Similarly, the GOP is making like this $2T annual deficit budget us some major victory. It’s weird when Chuck Schumer, like the Democrats who voted for this, and Tom Massie, who voted against, are the only ones who have a grip on reality, which is that this was a good deal for the Democrats, and a bad one for the GOP.
“AOC is packin’ on the pounds”
Congress is lucrative, even for dumb $hit, tip stealing Waitresses. Insider trading will pay for a lot Filet Mignon and 15oz. Australian Lobster Tails.
Uh oh, I must have been asleep for a while. When did that happen? 😁
Whatever happened to proof readers?
They’re just furious that the CR wasn’t added to with a bunch awful liberal progressive garbage, like spending bills usually are. It’s not that the resolution was passed; it’s that it was passed without all the grift in it.
I’m with you! WTH are they complaining about? Kabuki theater. DOGE hasn’t even budged the grift in DC 🤦
He’s not really our ally, but he is damned amusing.

I saw a clip from her leftism tour with Bernie Sanders. She was wearing jeans. Her ass is getting so fat, that I don’t want to date her anymore…
I think if some Freeper here wined AOC and dined her maybe a cruise to the country for a day or two listening to Mark Levin on the car radio, it’s not impossible, I suppose that she could come around and become one of us
I don’t want to date her anymore
Someone has to take one for the cause. She could be the next Margaret Thatcher, if she was in the right crowd.
Fetterman and Maher will get cancelled by the marxist leftist in charge of the democrats right now. This will escalate and they will cancel everyone that doesn’t march in step with their little marxist club. They’ll keep doing it until there’s only a boiling core of hateful ugliness that nobody will endure. Then they will start to rebuild. The way I see it, the process of winding down will take about 18 months. Meanwhile, Trump has that window. He needs to completely, unapologetically and irrevocably dismantle the democrats infrastructure of corruption and graft.
The American people are need to know that Trump knows how to operate the levers of power to accomplish the goals that he set out in his campaign rhetoric. Else they might as well side with the democrats and ride with them over the cliff.
Chuck didn't follow orders and march lockstep with the dems and as usual, they're throwing him to the curb.
No mercy from that group.
