Go Elon!
I personally know half a dozen people or more who receive social security disability checks that are perfectly fine. And that is just in my small circle of friends.
If I were Musk, I would double check the health status over every single person claiming disability using approved government doctors, not a doctor of the fraudsters choice.
How many millions of checks and direct deposits are made EACH MONTH to people who get ‘Crazy Checks’ as they are called in the ‘hood.
People or their minor children pretend to be autistic or ‘crazy’ to qualify for permanent disability checks from SS.
An adult son of former neighbor of ours where we used to live was getting 100% permanent disability checks from the SS because they claimed he had brain damage from huffing gasoline as a child.
There wasn’t a damn thing wrong with this guy. He rode motorcycles and had a job..................
exactly!
I even know people who are perfectly fine that for whatever reason the doctors INSISTED they were disabled when they argued they were not!
It is crazy

Trump could keep those IRS agents that he plans to fire and use them to check for fraud by meeting recipients of government money to see if they are legit or frauds.
exactly, along with every other federal employee courts wont let Trump fire!
put them all to work checking in person on fraud!
Unfortunately, there is a large percentage of people that are just fine with cheating - especially cheating a large, remote entity like the federal government. It’s a much smaller percentage that are ok with cheating someone they know personally.
I know 2 people who are receiving Medicaid that are not eligible. Off the books income. 30% of the country is on Medicaid. That’s huge, They should start there. And yes I know the Dems are already screaming about it.
I would even go so far as to offer a raise to any federal employee that courts wont let Trump fire, if they find 10 social security frauds!
I’m have a suggestion. Every time Trump implements an EO, Bondi should sue the government in a Republican favored federal district court and the judge shoots her claim down. Doesn’t this fix the problem?
Not really..................
Reagan went after them, that’s over 40 years ago.
He was criticized by Dems. Their argument was - we rather give money to thousand of fraudsters then leave one deserving person starve.
Since then, nobody ever bothered. It seems gov adopted that strategy whole heartly .
We need to fix welfare again!!!
HOORAY Elon and the individuals at DOGE. Thank you.
Yes. That was one of the main problems of Real Socialism (Soviet Union), where government owned almost everything.
Everybody was stealing from the government! They were even proud of it! It was kind of resistance movement.
“If you do not steal, you are stealing from your family.” was a popular saying then.
Luckily, we are not that far yet, but getting there. That needs to STOP!!!
The state and federal welfare bureaucracies tend to accommodate fraud because they are mostly run by people who regard welfare fraud as essentially a way that poor people get a little more than the law strictly permits.
Welfare fraud is, and has been, a huge problem. The system is flawed with social service agencies building the number of recipients so they need more staff and department heads make more money because they supervise more people. It should work the other way around.
When my husband recently passed, I contacted SSA that day. The lady took my information and asked if I had assets worth more than $2000, I think. I told her yes. I told her that his SSA payment was due to be in the bank the next day. He passed on Feb. 21, and it was in the bank on the 22nd. She said they would take that back. The VA said they will take his small stipend back too.
It will be a month tomorrow and they are both still in the bank. I got a letter in the mail a week after he passed claiming that I had too many assets to qualify for Medicaid. I didn’t want Medicaid and didn’t ask for it. I have insurance through Medicare and P&G’s retiree health insurance that works fine.
They really need to go hard after the Medicare and Welfare frauds.
I’m sure they will be trotting out Reagan’s “welfare queen” remark any moment now and throw in some race card stuff while they are at it.
