Wow - beautiful voices!
Glad it finally calmed down. Everyone must be worn out by the wind and dust the past several days. A nice break for your kitties too.
Your front will come through here Wed. night but they haven’t said anything about wind. No storms expected at least. This one finally got all the way through and it’s nippy right now. Supposed to dip below freezing by morning. We’ll be ridin’ the roller coaster big time all week. Up, down, up, down.
I was watching a lot of those monstrous tornados in real-time Friday night. One was coming straight here early yesterday morning but the storm calmed down enough in northern AL that it was just a thunderstorm when it reached me. Put on a decent strobe light show, had some hefty wind gusts, and heavy rain but that was it. I was grateful for our very dry air!
Howdy, Allegra!
Everything going well down your way? Were you eating tons of dust or did that all stay north of you?
You seem to be having some crazy weather of your own. Tell the truth, the snow is waaaay better than dirt falling out of the sky.
Hi radu! We did get the dust cloud over us a couple of weeks ago. Blecchh!
A bunch of us went to a St. Patrickβs festival yesterday and spent the afternoon outside on a big patio, chatting, laughing and listening to Irish music. It was a nice, sunny day in the 70s, but every now and then, a gust of wind would cause us all to grab plates, baskets, plastic beer glasses, etc. to prevent them from being blown over.
At one point, I said it reminded me of everybody taking their positions when the big cannon went off at 6:00 every day in the Mary Poppins movie.
How are things with you and the fur-family?
Yes, it was good to have a calm day. And a blue sky. I would have preferred rain, but blue is a good second best.
I know you were mighty anxious when those storms were headed straight for ya! Glad they fell apart before getting there. But the 4 inches of rain you got was awesome!
Yuck on the dust. Nasty stuff!
Sounds like a really nice day over there yesterday, except for the occasional wind gusts. Y’all had a good time, regardless, from the sound of things.
No outdoor activity for anyone here yesterday. Windy and extremely wet all day, and wondering if a tornado would come through. One came through about 6 miles north of the farm last evening and I was glad to miss out on that!
The fur babies are all doing well. Obnoxious, as usual. LOL
Ah, yesβ¦I heard that song many times as a little kid, as well as when I got to see the Clancy Brothers perform.
I pretty much knew all the words to most of their songs since Iβd heard them so much growing up. I remember I particularly liked βThe Rising of the Moonβ when I was a little kid and Mom would play it for me. I didnβt know the meaning behind it then, but I did by the time I saw them when I was a teenager.
I also loved βNo Nay Neverβ as a kid and loved it even more years later as a young adult who had discovered how nicely beer and Irish folk music went together.
Clancy Brothers music always reminds me of my mom and being reminded of her is always a nice thing indeed.
Oh, you were closer to that than I realized! Iβm glad the worst missed you. The footage from Mississippi, Alabama and Oklahoma was heartbreaking.
Stay safe!
After the ugly brown you’ve had lately, that blue sky must have been most welcome.
The sun peeked out once in a while here but it was cloudy for the most part. The clouds have moved out now so it’ll be pretty tomorrow. I hope the wind is gone too.
That tornado in AL that was heading here had my attention, that’s for sure. It was a big ‘un. Ryan Hall was covering it right before he signed off for some sleep and his 24-hour stream kept up with it too. I was able to keep track of it that way.
I wasn’t as concerned about the one last evening. I was tracking that, too, and could see it would go between here and Tullahoma.
The rain was most welcome. Most has soaked in already so it was needed. I didn’t see much standing water when I was out this afternoon.
I got us some KFC supper yesterday.
How's everyone doing this morning?
Ryan and his bunch have been doing wonderful work bringing the stuff the folks need since the tornadoes tore up their towns and their homes. The chasers are good folks.f
I’m glad you got all that rain. Just wish we could. I guess sooner or later it’ll happen.
Gizmo looks like he enjoyed his outing yesterday.
Have a fun outing for Monday.
And Happy St Patrick's Day.
God bless and a perfect hymn to end the day.
