Opponents of President Donald Trump’s USAID spending freeze will take cheer from the Supreme Court’s refusal to intervene this week. But there is less cause for celebration than they claim. The Justices’ decision to allow a trial judge’s order resuming spending to proceed is merely the first procedural skirmish in a larger constitutional battle that will return to the Court. In the meantime, Trump’s campaign to restore executive energy will still play out with the home field advantage created by the Constitution itself.

The best thing that can come of this is that Amir Ali’s activist arse is deported back to Canaduh? The boy needs to go.
I think the real question on everyone’s minds is “When are they going to restore the names of Aunt Jemima syrup and Uncle Ben’s Rice?”
When will all the corrupt politicians who got very rich off the taxpayers be arrested?
I would like to see the Cousin T brand buy the rights to Aunt Jemima.
The continuation of the injunction exposes the plaintiffs who are trying to steal this money to civil discovery. I assume some DOJ lawyer has already scheduled every one of these grifters’ depositions including third parties like Stanky Abrams and issued extensive Rule 34 document turnovers.
cool story- just read his bio- glad to see he made it big-
No worries, the pearl clutchers never disappoint

Have you ever heard of Alito?
It’s time to impeach and deport the Activist, Anti-American, Canadian Muzzie “judge”. The boy is a fraud.
I agree the decision in itself was not that troubling.
What was troubling was that Barrett was aligning with the Deep State TRAITOR John Roberts.
Obviously the Deep State is mounting a judicial coup against the executive branch in general and Trump in specific.
I don’t believe all that much in law.
I believe in politics and personal relationships.
It is PRETENSE to claim the SCOTUS is not a political branch.
If nothing else Barrett let everyone know that her “vote” was in play and it has become a truly “swing” vote.
The only question is how often does it swing to the TRAITOR John Robert and the Deep State Marxists?
he issued a temporary restraining order requiring payment at least for work allegedly already completed by the aid groups.>>> Key point and will allow the current USAID team to review the work completed by verifying against the request by the NGO’s involved. They NGO will have to prove that they completed stuff. If it is just funds transfers then where is the work completed? And it could take a while to verify the actual work. (judge wrongly assumed there was actually work being done.)
Yes, a nice explanation of the theory. I don’t think that Roberts and his gal pals subscribe to the theory. He will want to meddle in executive powers to bend them to his will.
The Justices’ decision to allow a trial judge’s order resuming spending to proceed is merely the first procedural skirmish in a larger constitutional battle that will return to the Court.***
Department of State v. Aids Vaccine Advocacy Coalition could become the Supreme Court case that provides the answer to the impoundment debate. It will become part of the broader challenges to President Trump’s efforts to remake the executive branch by reducing the federal workforce, shuttering offices, and narrowing federal interference in the economy and society.
Suppose that this case returns to the Supreme Court with the factual situation changed: the money was disbursed, subsequently all or part of it was found to be fraudulent or illegal, but the money cannot now be recovered. This factual situation would strongly vindicate Justice Alito and be very favorable for a ruling in favor of executive authority.
