The authorities in King County WA (Seattle), long ago retconned the name from being
that of Rufus King (a local worthy) to Martin Luther King Junior. Not that MLK had any
connection to Seattle at all. Or Seattle much of an African American population.

So this is entirely in character. Seattle dominates the state of Washington.
