While Europe’s politicians learnt their lesson from 2017 and appear to have decided to play nice in public with the incoming President Trump second term, the continent’s legacy media feels no such restraint and morning-of-inauguration coverage is loaded with dire predictions, accusations, and even unfavourable comparisons to dictators.
While the top story slots for Europe’s newspapers on Monday morning were reserved for the news and images of the Israel hostage deal, as the morning ground on and the clock counted down to Trump-hour these stories were rapidly displaced with inauguration content, with many publications incapable or unwilling of hiding their content for the results of American democracy.

...or a bug.
Eat your hearts out Europeons. We don’t have “migrant refugee colonists” running our country.
Perhaps Europe should go it alone on NATO without the US?
No we only have demonic evil DC swamp creatures and had the devil himself FJB running and ruining our livesI Pray this time Trump will drain the swamp
If the Yurps are unhappy with something, you immediately know it is good for America. Conversely, if they like something you immediately know it is terrible for America. The Yurps as a political class do not and never have had America’s best interests at heart.
That the Biden administration shat all over the rule of law or that Trump is against empire...against military interventionism and seeks to make those who weaponized federal agencies in a vendetta against their political opponents IS a return to the rule of law never dawns on them....because they are complete ignoramuses who think they know it all.
With respect and disagreement, Europe's problems are that various nations have been fed malarkey by media as by corrupt politicians, such that, in Germany, Alice Weidel and Sahra Wagenknecht are seen as "threats," while a Farage in the UK is seen as a threat," while the conservatives in France are seen as a "threat," while some like Viktor Orbán are seen a a "threat" and so on.
The corruption of politics in Europe has been rather thorough courtesy of decades of media manipulation and career politicians' outright lies.
With accusations of "disinformation" and "misinformation" becoming louder and louder, one sees -- if one sees this like a scene from the Wizard of OZ -- flying monkeys screaming in front of the wizard's curtain such that a Toto not yank at the curtain for all to learn who has been pulling the levers of corruption.
The slow unraveling in Europe is painful to the corrupt as the unraveling of corrupt Democrats here is painful -- to them.
Personally I am rather enjoying watching the agony.
“The entire aim of practical politics (and news reporting) is to keep the populace alarmed and, hence, clamorous to be led, by a endless series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary.”
H.L. Mencken
Most humongous, enormously, gigantically apt. Kudos!
So, the same as the American legacy media. Tagline still accurate on both sides of the Atlantic.
Well if they insist. Might as well close the book on it then. Or open it in that place, as it were:
Isaiah 611 The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;
2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD,

and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn..
Looking good, Billy Ray.
Feeling good, Louis.
From what I can see the leftist press in Europe still has the power to control public opinion in most of countries.
Euroweenie media, now there’s something to worry about.
/s
Vengeful, Im sure many here have dreams of this. So many to seek vengeance on. The EU has its own problems rooted deep in globalism and the puppets in each country controlled by them
Good idea!
Vengeful second term “European Legacy Media” whips itself up over trump’s inauguration day”.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Well that refers to European LEFT media, ONLY.
All European RIGHT media is all in for Trump.
Thus, the article misleads people into thinking that Europe’s media “in general” is against Trump. It is totally false!
Everyone I know in Europe supports Trump.
American Legacy Media is STILL anti-Trump. Right?
Does THAT assertion make ALL American media anti-Trump?
Of Course not!
Since they’re so obsessed with climate change and eating bugs, let them practice what they preach.
Who cares what the European “legacy” media has to say?
Look at their own countries and how degraded they are - so why would we take advice from them?
Not exactly. Much of the establishment press has become a solid part of the establishment left, which in turn is very heavily influenced by the revolutionary left (they oppose Bernie Sanders because he is incrementalist). The revolutionary left is very anti-western, because they see it as the status quo. The anti-western left is also almost universally anti-american. The revolutionary left is anti-American because the US has been the enforcer of the status quo.
I've lived in 4 European countries. When I say "Yurps", I don't mean ordinary Europeans of the various countries. I mean the elites in the political class and bureaucracy and media. Whether because they're a bunch of Leftists or because they are hoping to build a European superpower in opposition to America, its obvious to anybody even remotely familiar with them that they have always hated America. Those of us familiar with Europe have seen this very clearly for some time.
The vast majority of the regular people I met in various European countries was not at all like this. They are afflicted with same kind of shitty elitists who don't truly represent them and who really hate them we've long been afflicted with.
