WASHINGTON (AP) โ President-elect Donald Trump will take the oath of office from inside the Capitol Rotunda on Monday due to forecasts of intense cold weather.

The swearing-in was last moved indoors in 1985, when President Ronald Reagan began his second term. Mondayโs forecast calls for the lowest Inauguration Day temperatures since that day.

East Coasters are weak. Come to the northern plains for a kiss of -20 monday morning.
He already dodged a bullet. We donโt need a Harrison situation because of the cold.
Noticing how many high profile dems were announcing they would not attend the inauguration, was very concerned that a bomb or an explosive could be used against the new president and his family.
This is a very astute call by the Secret Service, and the cold provides good cover.
KUDOS to President Trump.
He has foiled the Deep State yet again.
Announcing it a mere 3-4 days in advance also doesn't allow potential conspirators any time to make new plans.
That’s good. Quality rifles can reach out and touch people from a long way out.
If it was g9of enough for Reagan it’s gonna d enough for Trump.
“Good idea from a security standpoint was well as the weather.”
Absolutely
I hope he doesn’t walk.
I would suggest they cancel all the festivities, and just get right to work. Take the off, go to the office, start signing executive orders.
POTUS is actually sworn in prior to the pulbic ceremony. He could just skip the public bullshart and head right to the Oval Office.
At least we won’t have another endless argument about crowd size.
I don’t remember the details but is this where the J6ers wandered about? If so it would be somewhat ironic.
Even better
Global warming strikes again!!
Yup. It takes the drone attack scenario off the table.
I still remember that photo of Bernie Sanders at the last inauguration. He sat scowling in the cold weather, with hands jammed into the deep woolen pockets his winter coat.
The President has spent most of the last several years in Florida, even as a native New Yorker the temps next week will feel shockingly cold.
