Rich and famous residents of Los Angeles' fire-stricken Pacific Palisades community are frequent users of private security – but Los Angeles' infamous red tape is keeping some of their guards away from their clientele, according to private security experts....

Craig Paul, the CEO of ASC Private Security in Los Angeles, said he's got bodies on the ground willing to work, but he can't get authorization to send them inside restricted areas where his clients need them...

While some private security firms are run by people with a law enforcement background, others are not, Paul said, and he sees a difference in how they are treated by authorities....

Is private security tax deductible? It would seem it should be since you’re getting no benefit from the taxes you pay.

All too many police believe that only they should be permitted to (also) work as private security ;and they expect to be paid an hourly rate same as when working their police job.

The ordinary security person costs the client MUCH less.

Some police are dismissive to actually hostile regarding private security, and some police recognize private security as a legitimate job done by ordinary people.

The unfortunate attitude of police versus “civilians” is closely related. The adoption of SWAT and military gear and mindset adds to these issues.

Both Republican and Democrat administrations have perverted the police mission.

ALSO:

FIRE TRUCKS COMING FROM OUT OF STATE: NEVADA & OREGON

MUST FIRST GO TO DOT IN SACRAMENTO & PASS “INSPECTION” BEFORE BEING ALLOWED TO FIGHT THESE FIRES.

SOOOOO LAS VEGAS FIREFIGHTERS HAVE TO DRIVE NORTH 400 MILES & GET AN “INSPECTION”-—AND THEN DRIVE 500 MILES BACK TO LA TO ASSIST IN THE FIRES.

THE INSPECTIONS WERE TO BE AT 4:30 PM ON FRIDAY. NOWHERE ELSE.

TOOK AWHILE TO FIND WHAT THE ‘INSPECTIONS’ WERE FOR:

INSPECTION THEY MUST PASS: “ SMOG STANDARDS “

THE SKIES ARE FULL OF SMOKE & ASH & EMBERS——AND PEOPLE TRYING TO HELP MUST PAS “SMOG TESTING”??????

SERIOUSLY? UNFORTUNATELY-—YES-—NEWSCUM RADIATES STUPID.

IF THEY DO GET INTO THE FRAY-—THEY HAVE TO BE REINSPECTED IN SACRAMENTO BEFORE THEY CAN LEAVE THE STATE.

IF THEY FAIL EITHER INSPECTION-—THEY MUST BE “REPAIRED TO CALIF “SMOG STANDARDS” “ BEFORE THEY CAN RETURN HOME.

I WOULD BEG ALL THOSE OTHER STATE GOVERNORS TO TELL NEWSCUM TO POUND SAND & I WOULD HOLD A NATIONWIDE PRESS CONFERENCE TO DO SO-—FULLY EXPLAINING WHY.

THIS IS BEYOND HUBRIS.

CALIF NEEDS TO PURGE ITSELF OF SUCH “LEADERS”.

Admiral Grace Hopper had the answer.

***************************************

It is often easier to ask for forgiveness than to ask for permission.
— Grace Murray Hopper

You manage things, you lead people. We went overboard on management
and forgot about leadership. It might help if we ran the MBAs out
of Washington.
— Rear Admiral Grace Murray Hopper

It is often easier to ask for forgiveness than to ask for permission.
— Rear Admiral Grace Murray Hopper

If it’s a good idea, go ahead and do it. It’s much easier to apologize
than it is to get permission.
— Rear Admiral Grace Murray Hopper

“In total desperation, I called over to the engineering building,
and I said, “Please cut off a nanosecond and send it over to me.”
At the end of about a week, I called back and said, “I need something
to compare this to. Could I please have a microsecond?””
— Rear Admiral Grace Murray Hopper

My little corollary:
When told no, go ahead and do it. Then turn it on and watch them scream. I had a LOT of fun at that job and pissed off a aircraft-carrier load of bureaucrats.

A nanoscond is about ten inches at lightspeed in a vacuum.
