Bernie Sanders Blames Raging California Wildfires on Climate Change
Breitbart ^ | 01/08/2024 | HANNAH KNUDSEN

Posted on 01/08/2025 3:37:50 PM PST by ChicagoConservative27

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) is blaming the raging California wildfires on climate change.

“80,000 people told to evacuate. Blazes 0% contained. Eight months since the area has seen rain. The scale of damage and loss is unimaginable,” the senator began before blaming the devastation not on poor fire management but on climate change.

“Climate change is real, not ‘a hoax,'” he said, demanding President-elect Donald Trump to “treat this like the existential crisis it is.”

Especially if you’ve had a hand in creating it.

If some sane Cal local FD pumped ocean water the loony left would get a lefty judge to stop them. But they should have had fresh water reservoirs.

Watch Karen Bass say critics are misogynists. The issue is not gender, it's ideology. A sane woman could be a good LA mayor but the machine would reject her.

I remember how they looked on 9/11, as I was going down Chambers Street, South of Thomas. They were covered in ash from head to foot, totally dejected after fighting a losing battle that took everything out of them. Of course, that was in NYC. LA could have used Joe Friday, but he was too short to become a firefighter.

Wildfires have been with us for some time.

Here's what Wikipedia has to say about them.

"History
Further information: Fossil record of fire

Elk Bath, an award-winning photograph of elk avoiding a wildfire in Montana
The first evidence of wildfires is fossils of the giant fungi Prototaxites preserved as charcoal, discovered in South Wales and Poland, dating to the Silurian period (about 430 million years ago).[279] Smoldering surface fires started to occur sometime before the Early Devonian period 405 million years ago. Low atmospheric oxygen during the Middle and Late Devonian was accompanied by a decrease in charcoal abundance.[280][281] Additional charcoal evidence suggests that fires continued through the Carboniferous period. Later, the overall increase of atmospheric oxygen from 13% in the Late Devonian to 30–31% by the Late Permian was accompanied by a more widespread distribution of wildfires.[282] Later, a decrease in wildfire-related charcoal deposits from the late Permian to the Triassic periods is explained by a decrease in oxygen levels.[283]

Wildfires during the Paleozoic and Mesozoic periods followed patterns similar to fires that occur in modern times. Surface fires driven by dry seasons[clarification needed] are evident in Devonian and Carboniferous progymnosperm forests. Lepidodendron forests dating to the Carboniferous period have charred peaks, evidence of crown fires. In Jurassic gymnosperm forests, there is evidence of high frequency, light surface fires.[283] The increase of fire activity in the late Tertiary[284] is possibly due to the increase of C4-type grasses. As these grasses shifted to more mesic habitats, their high flammability increased fire frequency, promoting grasslands over woodlands.[285] However, fire-prone habitats may have contributed to the prominence of trees such as those of the genera Eucalyptus, Pinus and Sequoia, which have thick bark to withstand fires and employ pyriscence.[286][287]"

Stupidly building expensive wood-frame houses in an area prone to wild fires does not make it a new catastrophe. It is man-made, just like sticking a “Kick me” sign on your back and sauntering into a high-school cafeteria is man-made. The Pacific Palisades were one giant “Burn me” sign plastered on the backs of ignorant fools, as they sauntered into nature’s high-school cafeteria. It’s tragic, but also tragically stupid, to think that money makes you impervious to the laws of nature.

Climate change is a HOAX!

Let's be sure to be specific, lest they have an easy out...

The concept of mankind's actions being a critical part of natural global climate change is a HOAX!

And never forget to remind the world, during any Climate Change debate...
1) 92% of all CO2 gases come from the OCEANS, and industry accounts for less than 3%...
2) ALL plant life on earth, including crops, trees, flowers, and grasses, thrive most at elevated CO2 levels... primarily between 750ppm and 1500ppm. (We are at 422ppm, climbing at less than 2/yr.) The Left is literally complaining about CO2 levels very slowly getting closer to IDEAL growth levels for all plant life.

(If you need quick and easy proof for any classroom of 5th grade intellects, of any age... simply tell the Liberal to use their maps app to find the nearest greenhouse, and then tell them to call the number and ask any employee there if they elevate the CO2 levels to help promote the plant growth. Ta-da! Another mind possibly opened!)

Take your climate change BS and shove it where the sun don’t shine, Bernie.

This disaster is so obviously a result of very poor planning and strategy on the left’s part. This is what diversity and inclusion abc that crap produces. And I’m not convinced that the stupid Democrats didn’t do this deliberately for some evil, convoluted reason.

Exactly. It’s been known that their policies are a major reason they get so bad. Any attempt to get water where it’s needed or cut back trees and vegetation so fires don’t spread so rapidly in stock by environmentalist trying to protect a fish or a mouse.

Watch and see how Ca. will somehow get Federal dollars to pay for their State Fire Insurance of Last Resort Fund through the front door, the back door, or the side door.... Wouldn’t all states love for the Feds to pay into their Last Resort Ins. Funds??? Ahhh yes... but they aren’t the Big Blue State of California !!!
