I believe they’ve been in jail awaiting trial, and yes, think they do have some relatives with whom they are in contact. Not sure I’d go so far as to say “supporting”. One of those with whom one or the other has been in contact has given a lot of inside info to the right wing media, not sure what the friend/relative’s motive might be. Could just be wanting to get the truth out.
