ABC News and George Stephanopoulos have reached a settlement with Donald Trump in his defamation suit. The network will pay $15 million to a charity and will issue an apology.
The settlement was filed publicly Saturday and reveals ABC will pay $15 million as a charitable contribution to a “presidential foundation and museum to be established by or for the Plaintiff.”.........
The judge wrote in August 2023 that Trump “raped” her in the broader sense of that word, as people generally understand it, though not as it is narrowly defined by New York state law.

The $15M is chump change for ABC, but the APOLOGY hurts...since now Trump can credibly claim just about anything they claim is suspect.
Is that the basis for another lawsuit?

Rape is not “narrowly defined” in New York state law. It is simple defined so that it does not include acts of a sexual nature not involving penetration of the vagina, anus or mouth (sorry to be graphic). Similarly, “murder” as this AH judge thinks “people generally understand it”, includes winning a baseball game with a lopsided score, as in “The Dodgers murdered the Yankees in the World Series”.

Trump should have owned ABC after this. Then fired everyone and hired in new broadcasters who were PRO-AMERICAN! We then would have a decent news channel to get Real News from.
President Trump needs to get the tax break for that charitable contribution.

Truth is there was no rape or assault. Carroll made it all up.
1. She couldn’t even tell us the year the incident happened.
2. She said it was in a busy dept store but she never screamed for help.
3. Carroll never filed a police report till 25 years later
4. The statute of limitations for her suit against trump had expired.

ABC should have been forced to make millions of MAGA hats that say "ABC Lied about Trump" and distribute them all across the country. Make the apology hurt for a long time!
It’s too bad that Stephanopoulous hasn’t got to pay this out of his own pocket.
