Byrd is a stellar example of the hires that the Capital Police and the police in D.C. acquire. Just look at how the majority of the LE in D.C. look at Byrd and support his actions before, during and after he murdered Babbit.
Murder. This man needs to be tried in a federal court and sent to the electric chair. Or at least twenty years at hard labor.

On the other hand, the mob knew they were breaking the law by smashing windows and breaking in. The officers tried to stop them but were outnumbered.
Consider the point of view on the other side of the door:
The doors are barricaded with furniture. A mob fills the stairwell outside the doors. They outnumber the officers. They smash the windows. Now, one person is crawling through. How would you know that person isn’t armed? How would you know someone else in the mob isn’t armed? If you pulled that one person through to arrest her, couldn’t others start rushing through?
Let me put it this way: Having talked to the legal officer during my deployment to Afghanistan in 2007 - he roomed next door to me - I’d say in the scenario you describe, I wouldn’t be allowed to shoot an unarmed woman as a soldier in combat! From what he told me, our standards in Afghanistan in 2007 were higher than that for use of deadly force.
Maybe punch her, or smack her on the head, but not shoot her dead.
Sperry is doing an excellent job. This is what journalists should actually do if they want to have that title.

BREAKING: Bank records I’ve obtained reveal Ashli Babbitt’s killer USCP Capt. M. Byrd has had severe financial/credit problems, inclg multiple bad loans + home foreclosures in Maryland. State records show he ran a day care out of his home. Byrd failed FBI bkgd check in Sept 2021.
He could have warned her and shouted to retreat. At least give her the opportunity. The crowd certainly retreated when he shot her. The sight of the gun would most likely have sufficed. He just shot her down like a dog with no warning.
