Native Americans Shift Right
City Journal ^ | Nov 2024 | Naomi Schaefer Riley

Many ethnic groups moved rightward in the 2024 election, and Native Americans are among them. Seventeen counties with majority-Native American populations swung toward President-elect Donald Trump by ten or more percentage points. Just as with black and Hispanic voters, Native Americans had concerns that extended beyond the identity politics and left-wing virtue signaling of Democrats and the Kamala Harris campaign. Nationally, a whopping 65 percent of Native American voters went for Trump.

The political divide is no longer driven by race, but by gender. And that’s why the Democrats are so tone deaf, thinking that appealing on the basis of race will still work for them.

So long as you call them native — anything — you are with the commie trash.
Over 300 tribes were interviewed years ago. They were perfectly OK with “indians”. Only the local SJW’s objected and the tribal elders said to ignore that trash.

There are no “natives”, everybody stole the land from somebody else at one time.

I’m sure if liberal whites issue more apologies for “occupying stolen lands” Will work.

I am not surprised. If you have ever been to a Navajo rodeo, you would see how uncommonly patriotic Native Americans are.

There is big controversy right now in New Zealand.

Maori people have been given a lot of advantages. I have no idea if this list is accurate but reminds me of how Native Americans get special privileges. A basic example is how they could get health care at any time they want via Obamacare but other people can only do it as certain times.

The new bill wants people of New Zealand to be treated more equally. The Haka dance has gone viral. The whole place erupted in the gallery and on the floor .

They weren't even born there. They came from Polynesia. Native Americans are believed to have come from Asia. The rightness or wrongness of all of this is beyond something I can opine on but I will say that having Native Americans start doing a tribal dance in Congress is about the same was what this lady did. It is showboating.

The “minorities” are learning they’ve been used and abused.

The Navajos I’ve been around in Arizona are beautiful humans. I love watching their traditional ring dancing, etc. Hanging out with them is a revelation.

Bob, you are right. This whole “native” thing is top down nonsense started by elites and academia.

I am Choctaw Indian. At pow-wows (another problematic word) we eat N-D-N tacos and honor our Indian Code Talkers.

They must have remembered that “The Trail Of Tears” was the doings of the first Democrat President Andy Jackson.

"If you have ever been to a Navajo rodeo, you would see how uncommonly patriotic Native Americans are."

Yes. As a riding member of the "Run For The Wall", we were invited to the Navajo Nation's capital at Window Rock. Those of us who rode the extra miles were greeted with the Navajos lining the street with cheers and waving the American flag.

Once there, they put on a number of events, including an Honor Guard procession. They couldn't have been more friendly and accommodating. I was so proud of them and honored to have been invited. I actually got choked up by their support and enthusiasm for us.

In case you don't know:
The "Navajo Code Talkers" were a group of Native American Marines from the Navajo tribe who used their native language to create a secret code during World War II, transmitting vital messages in the Pacific theater that were considered unbreakable by the enemy due to the complexity and unwritten nature of the Navajo language. They played a crucial role in military operations, particularly in the Marine Corps, by sending coded messages regarding troop movements, tactics, and other critical information.

I remember coming across some of their websites and message forums years ago. They were laughing at the term "native American." They referred to themselves as Indian.

The Marine Corps Museum in Quantico (actually Triangle, VA) devotes a good deal of space to the WWII Navajo Code Talkers.

Does this mean that Liz Warren probably voted for Trump?

I didn't know the Choctaw were involve in the WWII "Code Talkers". I thought that was a Navajo Marine only operation. What are N-D-N tacos?

Liberals are fixated on stasis. They want to freeze nature and civilization as it is today: the rich stay rich, the poor stay poor, the middle-class stay struggling.
