Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine., a moderate, is planning to run for a sixth term in the 2026 midterm election.

Collins, a moderate lawmaker, last won re-election in 2020 despite President Biden, a Democrat, winning Maine.

ā€œI’m focused on the appropriations process, not elections right now, but my intention is to run,ā€ Collins said, according to the Washington Examiner.

Maine has RCV for a reason.

Alaska just repealed it.

Maine, grow a brain.

Another reason why Gaetz will be confirmed. Sussie will play this Kabuki dance out to fool the simpletons in Maine. She will is holding out to try to grab one of the No votes before any of the others do.

Maine should have a minimum attractiveness standard for public office. Collins would never pass it, no matter how low the bar.

Despite Trump winning the popular vote and showing stronger in Blue States than any other Republican in a generation, he still lost Maine by 7 points.

So the question is: Which is better: a totally reliable vote Shumer and the DNC vote, or Collins, who votes 98% (or more) for Trump’s judicial picks? Once conservatives can figure that out (and I know it’s hard), then we’ll only be seeing Democrats in our rear view mirror.

(and no, I will not say the same about Romney, who is in a solid Red State - Romney needs to go)

Who will you suggest we primary her with that can actually win the seat in the general election? Do you disagree with the premise that giving it to a dem who vote lockstep with Schumer is worse than Collins who votes with Trump the vast majority of the time? Or is it trolling? Curious.

I don’t live in Maine. I find it hard to believe she is your only alternative up there. I live in NJ. We have the same problem here. But even here we have alternatives and I support them. And I vote against liberals like Collins in our primary elections.
Collins, like Mikulski snd Christie and Whitman and Bramnick, is a RINO. And RINOs have been slow walking America towards Marxism for decades.

I am HARDLEY a “troll”. Check my posting history

Unfortunately, she is in the Senate until she dies or resigns. Whichever comes first.

Whatever party label on her name will not make any difference.

Time for a change. Congress is basically a retirement center for old people.

There should be a law passed that all elected officials cannot work past minimum age for retirement. There should also be a law passed that all elected government officials only get benefits while in office.

EEO not only prevents age discrimination but promotes old people being allowed to work.

You are proposing that 82, I must be relieved of my job

The hag’s only 72—that’s just a kitten in congressional years!

But let’s hope that wanting to be elected again will keep her closer to MAGA than she’d otherwise be.

She is the poster child of a uniparty player. She is also the poster child of why the 17th Amendment needs to be repealed. Prior to the 17th amendment being imposed, there’s no way the likes of Susan Collins would make it to Washington DC
