Gavin Newsom and Donald Trump have large egos but that’s where the similarities end.
Trump has already proven he’ll put everything on the line, including his life and business, for the country. Newsom was having fancy dinners at his upscale restaurant during COVID while he had the entire state locked down. Newsom is all about himself. His slickness works in California. It won’t work nationally.

In my substacks I keep harping on this: the DemoKKKrats are headed over Igauzi Falls and don’t even acknowledge it yet.
Newsome is no Donald Trump. Newsome is barely Gerald Ford.
Today separate columns from Noah Smith, Matthew Yglesias, and Ruy Teixeira all admit the Dems have a MAJOR problem with appealing now only to the rich, but their “solutions” still are light years away from real world solutions.
