Mayor Eric Adams is ending his administration’s controversial program supplying migrants in city shelters with prepaid debit cards to pay for groceries.
The pilot program distributed the preloaded Mastercards to asylum seekers at hotels-turned-shelters with a family of four receiving about $350 a week to cover the cost of groceries and baby supplies.
The city hired New Jersey-based tech startup, Mobility Capital Finance, in a $53 million one-year “emergency” contract that drew backlash when the city failed to conduct a typical bidding process before picking the company.
But with the one year up shortly, the Adams administration decided against renewing the contract, ABC7 reported.

Wouldn’t be surprised if Adams feels he is a victim of the current Demonrat Admin and thus has a lot in common with Trump.
It’s therefore possible that he has been privately sharing with Trump some very damning info about his party’s dirty dealings.

There are no restrictions on those cards. The filthy lie from the New York City government and the card merchants, is that it's for "groceries and baby supplies".
It only takes two weeks of debit card cash to buy a ticket back to Guatemala City. They can be home before Christmas.
A side note:
Did you notice hurricane Rafael was surging toward the US Gulf Coast? Once Trump was declared the winner it changed course. Even hurricanes know Trump will turn them away at the border.
