WASHINGTON (AP) — Joe Biden’s name wasn’t on the ballot, but history will likely remember Kamala Harris’ resounding defeat as his loss too.

As Democrats pick up the pieces after President-elect Donald Trump’s decisive victory, some of the vice president’s backers are expressing frustration that Biden’s decision to seek reelection until this summer — despite long-standing voter concerns about his age and unease about post-pandemic inflation as well as the U.S.-Mexico border — all but sealed his party’s surrender of the White House

“The biggest onus of this loss is on President Biden,” said Andrew Yang, who ran against Biden in 2020 for the Democratic nomination and endorsed Harris’ unsuccessful run. “If he had stepped down in January instead of July, we may be in a very different place.”

The one person they don’t seem to blame is Trump?

Herass could have shut down the border to prove that she was serious.

She didn’t.

She’s not.

She never has been.

It’s the party’s fault. They refused to run a process to find the best candidate.

Concur. Now, Toxic Joe did get a couple of little needle stabs in on the way out, but this is on the candidate.

Joe IS going to have a bad legacy.

But, because of the coup, he’s going to be able to escape a good chunk of the recriminations that were coming his way.

I think the Biden(s) were getting even for the coup against them.

Yang is right...IF they could have turned their backs on a VEEP and the VERY FIRST Woman POC to hold that position. But there’s no way they would have rejected Harris. Boot a woman POC out of the candidacy of the Demo-Intersectionalist Party? Never.

The entire party is to blame, not one person.

Joe was a lousy president but we can thank the Bidens for helping Trump to get back to the White House.

It was his fault (?) that they ran him from the basement in 2020 knowing that he was failing and they picked Harris as his VP (after she REALLY tore into him in the primaries) thinking that she would replace him before or in 2024? Obviously, those were bad ideas… but not his bad ideas.

It was never her mission to shut down the border. Biden wanted it wide open. He encouraged people to rush the border even before he assumed office as POTUS. All K was to do was deflect attention and be a figurehead of appearing to something while actually doing nothing. She excelled at doing nothing.

I didn’t know there was anything wrong with Lunchbucket Joe - the state media never said anything and Karine St Pierre said he was fit as a fiddle. What on earth would he step aside for? -
