Americans have a long tradition of being the “Loyal Opposition”. Your guy loses, you continue to oppose the winner’s policies, but you still conduct yourself as a loyal American and a good citizen. Both sides have drifted away from this time honored tradition in recent years. None so blatant and destructive as the Democrats before, during, and after Trump’s first term as President. Blatant Democrat lies, spread by the Media and acted on by the DOJ and FBI crippled Trump’s Presidency, severely hampering policies that millions of voters counted on when they elected him. Lies that have been proven untrue, even by the Democrat’s own Special Prosecutor at the cost of millions of dollars. Lies that we now know were known to be lies by Democrats, the Media, and the DOJ and FBI. It was a coordinated attack on a sitting President. A Coup of sorts, Un-American at best, Treasonous at worst. Now, Democrats have had four years of their policies. Republicans did not riot, loot, and burn cities. They did not engage in Lawfare, bringing countless bogus legal charges against Joe Biden. They did not gin up hatred to the point that there were attempts on his life. We opposed his policies but remained loyal American citizens. If the Left engages in dis-loyal, Un-American attacks on Trump again two things are going to happen.
1. It will work, given the Press’s history of covering for the Left (”Mostly peaceful protests”) as cities burned and people died) and attacking Trump with vicious lies (Russian Collusion, Very fine people, inciting an insurrection...the list is too long for this piece).
2. We, the Right, seeing this injustice working yet again and with no effective way to counter it will no doubt adopt the Left’s strategy and tactics.
That will be when America begins the slide into chaos that will make us look like Bosnia or Rwanda, with post election violence being the norm. Regardless which side eventually wins America loses.
Oppose Trump all you want. Call him Hitler or any other vile thing you can think of. Just know this…the days of “Yeah, but Trump!” being justification for un-American, Disloyal and Illegal acts is over. Stop denying half of your fellow Americans the policies and agenda they voted for. Be the Loyal Opposition. Be good citizens. Be Americans.
