Vice President Kamala Harris refused to say whether or not she would vote for California’s Proposition 36 because “it’s the Sunday before the election.”
Harris’s refusal to articulate a position on the measure underscores her strategy to not irritate the radical left while trying to remain ambiguous to attract moderates.
California’s Proposition 36 would give drug traffickers and serial shoplifters tougher penalties.
“How did you vote on Prop 36?” a reporter in Detroit asked Harris.
“So, I have — my ballot is on its way to California and I’m gonna trust the system that it will arrive there and I am not gonna talk about the vote on that because, honestly, it’s the Sunday before the election and I don’t intend to create an endorsement one way or another around it,” she replied:
Harris’s failure to answer about policy positions is a longstanding issue. She has failed to define her position on 15 policies, Axios reported Sunday, making her the “no comment” candidate.
One thing is clear about Vice President Harris’ intent to stick to her old liberal views or govern with new centrist thinking: She doesn’t want voters to know.
Why it matters: Harris is the “no comment” candidate — purposely and strategically. She has calculated that it’s safer to be vague on policy matters than lampooned as a flip-flopper or left-winger.
Zoom in: Harris and her staff have refused to detail her position on more than a dozen of her previous stances the past three months in response to questions by Axios. The response to those inquiries: No comment.

So she cannot comment on an issue on the ballot the Sunday before the election? Is that because it’s so close to the election?
So then ,,is the implication that she would have been able to comment on it well before the election, but not now.?
Her ballot is on the way to CA?
As I have posted earlier today that is the excuse of every Democratic non-voter out there!
Even Kamala knows better than to vote for herself.
Lol.
Has she answered what she would do on ANYTHING?
My Jewish Liberal Aunt WILL NOT vote for Harris. She is angry that no one picked her.
How can a career prosecutor who was "tough on criminals" and won the primaries to be nominated and run for the highest public office in the land NOT take a stance on a "tough-on-crime" bill?
Oh, yeah, because she's really a career mistress, never won a single delegate, and hates the police.
Honestly at first I think Kamala Harris was just a brain dead idiot who cant answer a simple question..I mean honestly what is so damn hard to say “Yeah I voted yes or no on this proposition but you can make up your own mind” but NO, she cant do it..why, because if she were to tell her REAL opinion on things she would only get 15 percent of the vote and that is scary..that she is deliberately not telling people her true beliefs and that is scarier than having a moron in the White House. I can live with a moron in the White House, but I cant live with someone who is keeping her true agenda secret, God help us all, just God help us all
“I’m sorry, I can’t campaign today — it’s too close to the election.”
The Harris formula is to tell you why your question is very important to her and babble about its historical significance, and when you attempt to say yeah, that’s why I asked it, so what’s the answer, will tell you that she’s talking now. I’ll be happy when I never have to hear that sort of time-wasting gobbledegook again.
The dog ate my homework.
I hope she’s in a swing state and voting for Trump!!
The article actually makes a good point. Kamala refuses to answer because if she was clear, she would expose herself as either a flip-flopped or or a left wing winger and neither is politically tenable.
The best way to go, which is not that much better, is to just not answer the questions on policy and to be labeled a person with no ideas.
Good luck with that.
PA and she might!! In a rational America he would be winning 47 States.
She was asked days ago how she would vote on prop 36, her response, at the time is that she was going to look
at it or something to that effect.
Prop 36 will, to some extent, be tougher on crime after the disastrous prop 47 which passed when Kamala was AG.
Polls are showing prop 36 will easily pass...There are democrat politicians in CA who did not want the measure on the ballot.
Kamala is afraid to show who she really is.
It is against everything Communists stand for to answer a question truthfully.
The less she talks, the better for her campaign.
I’m afraid we’ll have to put up with a lot of this if she’s elected. Someone in the government will need to watch her & Walz like a hawk if we are to get anything accomplished as I’m pretty sure they won’t do it on their own. The same probably holds true even if Trump is elected, but not for the same reasons. It will be easy to tell if Trump tries to do something worthwhile as every available Democrat will vote against it.
