Trump impersonator Shawn Farash was recently featured in a commercial made for television by a company called D.T. McCall & Sons.
For some reason, channel 5 in Nashville censored the ad. There is nothing offensive about it or that could be considered a violation of FCC rules, so what gives?
Is this just another case of media bias or cancel culture? The ad is actually pretty funny.
The Daily Signal reported:
Radio and TV Station Refuse to Run Ad Featuring a Trump Impersonator
Tennessee retailer D.T. McCall & Sons told The Tennessee Star on Wednesday that Cumulus Media and Scripps Media, Inc. both refused to broadcast advertisements inspired by former President Donald Trump on Cumulus’ Nashville radio station, SuperTalk 99.7 WTN, and Scripps’ Nashville television station, NewsChannel 5.
The offending ads feature an impersonator of Trump wearing a suit and a “Make America Great Again” hat who performs an impression of the former president while extolling the virtues of D.T. McCall & Sons and excoriating nameless competitors at “the lumber yards.”
“These are sick people at the lumber yards,” said the Trump impersonator in one of the four ads reviewed by the Star. “They charge you for cords, and hoses, and haul offs,” he continued, “they call them hidden charges, it’s the type of surprise that you don’t want to see. It’s like an October Surprise, but it’s worse.”…
A.J. McCall, the owner of the Tennessee appliance company, told the Star on Monday that Cumulus declined to run the commercials on its Nashville radio station even after McCall had the ads modified to include a disclaimer clarifying that Trump did not personally lend his voice to his company for the ads.

They are good ads.
Soy boy.
Yeah, it’s truly rare I enjoy a commercial.
These are really pretty good. Although the impersonator doesn’t look like Trump, he sprites his unusual speech patterns perfectly. The station doesn’t have to run them if it doesn’t want to.
I know.
In the 1990s I went to a education conference in Denver where there was Bill Clinton impersonator walking around in one of the cocktail parties. He was hitting on the women and asked if they liked cigars. It was hysterical because you could see the liberal women squirm.
I had to keep my mouth full of gin&tonicto keep from laughing
Shawn Farash is a frequent guest political commentator on some Newsmax shows. He doesn’t really talk like that, he just does a heck of a good Trump impression.
He’s very conservative and loves Trump. He’s no soyboy. He’s one of us.
Simple explanation. Cumulus despises Trump. Even an impersonator. Even a red hat, no matter where it’s from. The End
In 2013 I was at an event that had a GW Bush impersonator on the stage. They even had security. I was far enough from the stage that I thought for a couple minutes it might actually be him. The impersonator bore a good resemblance.
The history of D. T. McCall and Sons spans parts of three centuries, and the McCalls have been in the middle Tennessee area even longer. Alexander McCall (1765-1833), an Ulster Scot, left County Armagh in northern Ireland in the latter part of the 1700’s and eventually settled in Rome, Tennessee near Carthage. He had ten children, one of which was named David Thomas McCall (1813-1851).
They describe themselves as solid family business
He certainly sound like President Trump.
That’s hilarious!
I just got back from a road trip to Nashville TN. All across Arkansas it was TRUMP signs everywhere, in MO, KY, Tenn. Then it was Nashville. Harris signs everywhere, ONE vandalized Trump sign.
I don’t watch much TV but I did see some Harris commercials on the little I watched.
Nashville, the home of the Grand Ole Opry and the capital of country music is Harris country? Huh. Surprising.
Yep, shocking, but it's Dem with a Dem mayor.
Yep
