Former President Trump earned endorsements from "highly respected" Muslim leaders and Imams during a campaign rally in the battleground state of Michigan.
Trump, speaking to a crowd in Novi, Michigan, on Saturday afternoon, called the group of Muslim leaders "highly respected," before bringing them onstage.
"I’m thrilled to accept the endorsement of these highly respected leaders," Trump told the thundering crowd.
The group of leaders cited Trump’s commitment to ending wars and ensuring global peace as a primary reason for their support, describing him as a leader who "promises peace, not war."
"We, as Muslims, stand with President Trump because he promises peace, not war!" Imam Belal Alzuhairi said.
"We are supporting Donald Trump because he promised to end war in the Middle East and Ukraine," Alzuhairi said. "The bloodshed has to stop all over the world, and I think this man can make that happen. I personally believe that God saved his life twice for a reason."
Mayor Bill Bazzi, the first Muslim and Arab American elected mayor of Dearborn Heights, Michigan was also present at the rally to express support for Trump.
"We're going to stop the wars, we're going to make the United States safe again, and we're going to make the world safe," Bazzi said.
"What a nice endorsement," Trump said after Bazzi’s speech. "These are great people."
The Muslim leaders official endorsement came after Amer Ghalib, the mayor of the Detroit-area suburb Hamtramck, announced his support of Trump in a Facebook post on Oct. 20.
"Though it’s looking good, he may or may not win the election and be the 47th president of the United States, but I believe he is the right choice for this critical time," Ghalib wrote in Arabic on his Facebook page.

Jill Stein and Donald Trump will win most of the Muslim votes in Michigan and nationwide. Kamala Harris losing this election is the best revenge for mercilessly waging a genocide. pic.twitter.com/sBrd9YicSZ — Nemat Sadat (@nematsadat) October 26, 2024
Dearborn Heights mayor Bill Bazzi likewise embraced Trump as potential peacemaker, telling the crowd, "We're going to stop the wars, we're going to make the United States safe again, and we're going to make the world safe." Amer Ghalib, Muslim mayor of Detroit suburb Hamtramck, endorsed Trump on Oct. 20.
Trump seems to have improved with every constituency and yet hes still not winning...hard to make that make sense. Someone is wrong, as always.
you’re on FR :)
We (thankfully) tend not to bring in terribly depressing news about the election.
But I have followed it closely and have followed dozens of polls and she had leads (fake or real) up to 7 points maybe 4 to 6 weeks ago. Average was 3 or 4.
That is all GONE.
It’s now a 2 point race at most in either side’s favor and I think Trump wins 300 EVs even if it’s 50 to 48 against him.
Which I dont think it will be
FL and TX don’t vote nearly as heavily in favor of Trump as CA and NY vote in favor of harris so she has millions of worthless votes in those places...boosts her perforance in “popular vote” but that term means less than nothing.
Trump looks good :)
But I lost like 5 or 10 poudns fretting so it all worked out in the end
President of Peace
But wait, Trump was the Racist President who wanted to ban middle easterners from the USA when he was concerned about terrorists.
How can such a Middle Easterner racist be endorsed b Muslims?
Oh, that was understandable and Biden and Harris are the true racists......I get it.
He should still ban some Muslims. That’s ok with me.
A reminder to people that pulls for Kamala versus Biden changed instantly and in at least one specific case that revealed their turnout model, the reason for that change was a change to the turnout model.
It was not a change to the answers they were getting on the telephone when they took their surveys. It was a change to how many of various categories they would allow to be in their 1,000 likely voter or registered voter sample.
You don’t just make a few thousand phone calls and tally up the candidate preference among them. Doing that sort of thing almost guarantees that there will be an undesired slant in whatever direction. So you have a turnout model. You presume that so many of each party will appear. You presume so many of each sex will appear. You presume so many of each race will appear.
That’s the turnout model. You make phone calls until you have enough samples to fill each of those categories. Only then do you look at candidate preference.
The only people that have changed their minds from the point when Biden dropped out to now are the pollsters. They changed their turnout models and reported the results and it looked like a surge on the part of Kamala, and simply wasn’t.
Wow. I had no idea about that but it makes perfect sense to have a much more scientific way to go about polling.
And it still is the norm that most are off after real numbers come in.
Polling’s a hard thing.
Thanks for all the info.
I dont WANT to give in to the idea that Hispanic and black guys wouldn’t vote for a female for president....I’d like to think it’s because they analysed the positions each had :)
But a lot of the black guys voting for Trump found harris “better” for almost every area of their lives than Trump...maybe they just said that to sound like they didn’t hate her.
I dunno :)
FTA:
“We’re going to stop the wars”

The wars against Hamas and Hezbollah???
“...’highly respected’ Muslim leaders ...”
What? Do THEY use remote detonators?
“He should still ban some Muslims. That’s ok with me”.

I’d oppose Muslims with Top Secret clearances—particularly in the U.S. Navy.
This makes me a little nervous, having Muslims back trump…
Trump did a great stop at Penn State and bringing on the 11x winning wrestling team was genius. Barron knows how to create a social media buzz among young people. DJT is tapping into every vote. That is what real unity is.
This endorsement even got Michael Moore out begging for votes for Kamala.
Trump is changing a lot of equations. Members of the Muslim community in Michigan recently hosted an event with Rick Grenell. A friend was there as part of the Muslim outreach and said he was very well received.
Sounds encouraging but I still don’t trust the savages
Just start with the Shia.
It's interesting that in areas such as Emirates, Jordan, etc.; I have yet to run into any issues. Of course, I stay away from the Jordanian/Iran border area.
Hard to make a case for blacks and hispanics refusing to vote for a woman, since they did for Hillary.
A lot of it is ease of voting. VBM etc. The exact sort of minority male who lives their lives with better things to do — the macho sort that responds to a guy getting shot and walking away — it’s easy for them to vote now.
Not jazzed about PDJT cozying up to muzzie animals nor his support for the FL constitutional marijuana amendment.
Nonetheless, he got my vote last Saturday.
