After a decade of telling us Donald Trump is Hitler, the Post announced that Kamala Harris is so awful that the paper would not endorse her over Hitler. ….
What followed was the usual-usual from our moral betters — what we’ve come to expect when our oh-so dignified elites don’t get their way: a full-blown-lay-down-on-the-floor-in-the-middle-of-the-grocery-store-kicking-and-screaming tantrum. ... politicians who showed no emotion about Americans dying in Benghazi discovering their outrage ….
… Here are three reasons this is glorious…
First off, while it is humiliating for Kamala not to win an endorsement against Hitler, in the real world, an endorsement from the stupid and soon-to-be-bankrupt Washington Post was not going to move the electoral needle. But this does damage Harris in one important way.
… it will drown out Kamala’s closing argument.

Because he believes he’s winning, Trump wants to freeze the race, and this Washington Post snit-fit is and will help him do that.
Secondly, there’s only one reason Washington Post owner Jeff Bezos refused to endorse Harris: he believes Trump will be our next president. ... he’s looking for a way to make nice to the next president after a decade of trashing, smearing, undermining, and defaming him.

Third, and this one is my favorite, is the Post’s doom spiral. In their partisan hatred to rid the country of Donald Trump, outlets like the Post (along with CNN, the New York Times, the Late Night shows, etc.) alienated and lost forever every subscriber except the hardcore left-wingers who demand 100 percent fealty to The Cause. These people do not want news or truth. They demand comfort and affirmation. And if you do not give it to them, they will punish you by canceling their subscriptions.

Are we having fun yet?
I’m loving it & having fun.
The 2024 election has been one of the most enjoyable of my lifetime.(1971-)
Bezos is showing that he is either afraid of fascists or is attempting to kiss up too late.
We know it’s the second one.
Not until the vote tally confirms an unequivocal Trump victory will we be having fun. But it’s time to giggle behind our hands at each other. Do not energize the shmuckocracy.
Wait..I should have added that of course Trump isn’t a fascist. Don’t know if that was made clear by me !!
Agreed
“Secondly, there’s only one reason Washington Post owner Jeff Bezos refused to endorse Harris: he believes Trump will be our next president. ... he’s looking for a way to make nice to the next president after a decade of trashing, smearing, undermining, and defaming him.”
EXACTLY! Bezos is scared to death of a PDJT win!
The chickens are coming home to roost, huh, hypocrite-Bezos?
Bezos wants gov’t money for his Space Ops.
*bump*
I think it’s safe to say that Nick is off the WaPost’s Christmas list.
every time something bad happens to corporate media... an angel gets it’s wings. (from the article)
The most reprisals anyone in the media ever suffered from Trump 45 was a good, thorough razzing. One time he re-tweeted a meme of him wrastling the CNN logo to the ground. Oh, nose! And he continues to razz them to this day.
Shame. Using the passive voice unnecessarily.
Oh, yeah. And you forgot to make it clear in the article that Trump is not a fascist. Shamedy shame shame shame;-}
Congratulations on getting published.
Funny, WaPo couldn’t endorse someone over Hitler...excellent point.
I was booted twice long ago and I get paranoid sometimes :)
I was even MORE of a bigmouth horse’s butt back then, if you can believe that!! :)
Just finished viewing yet again Darkest Hour with Oldman as Churchill. Telling scene in this context is when he’s going about in the street and sees boys playing in Hitler masks, as part of daily occurrence before the bombs started falling.
If everyone’s Hitler, nobody is, until one man is. And that man is not Donald Trump.
Can’t think of a song with that theme right now. The clocks have just been set back, and I’m exhausted at 3:12 am
Been listening to distant booms and smartphone bulletins informing us of missiles and drones falling here in the North, mostly in Nahariya, where I lived for two years. Now in Haifa.
Wars are not supposed to go on this long in the Middle East.
