ORLANDO, Fla. — A United States Mailman is accused of tossing away more than 1,000 pieces of mail, including 400 pieces of pollical mail and one election ballot, according to newly filed court documents.
...
On Friday, federal authorities arrested Ottis McCoy for stealing United State mail and dumping it in the woods instead of delivering it to his assigned route in Orlando.
According to court documents, a co-worker told McCoy’s manager that he had returned from his route earlier than expected despite leaving with a “very large quantity of mail.”
The manager checked McCoy’s vehicle’s GPS and learned that he had deviated from his route to a wooded lot where the co-worker found several pieces of mail scattered around.
A Postal Inspector with the United States Postal Inspection Service began an investigation into the incident and obtained surveillance video from a nearby resident that purportedly shows McCoy arriving at the wooded lot in his Postal van,
Stills from the surveillance video included in the criminal complaint show a man standing near the van appearing to throw mail into the trees and bushes.
Other pictures in the complaint show pieces of mail littered in bushes, trees, and across the ground as well as in one of the pictures, you can see what appears to resemble a Florida absentee mail-in ballot lies beneath a bush.
Times how many workers doing this?
I don’t get doing things you shouldn’t on your job.
You end up getting caught and losing the way you pay for yourself and maybe if it’s bad enough going to jail and wrecking your record to get any other job.
How is this smart?
I posted this would happen including some quotes from earlier news stories.
I noted that letter carriers and their friends at the sorting sections see “Donald Trump needs your help again”, subscription to New American or National Review, ones to the Nation, New Republic or Mother Jones and so on.
So the mailed “secret ballot” from the known supporter or detractor of the employee’s candidate may not arrive.
I have received the wrong person’s mail maybe five times last year and have had some appear on my doorstep, meaning they got my
mail somewhere. Plus my lost $56 value package which the GPS and the postal inspector said the woman who stole it had “delivered” it to me——untrue.
I have a great regular mail carrier to whom I give sandwich shop gift cards every Christmas. The subs are not so good.
“”including 400 pieces of pollical mail “”
Dear Mr. DeMarco - you too could apply for a job with the USPS..
One ballot. Only 29,999,999 remaining to be found.
“The subs are not so good.”
Does the sandwich shop have BLTs? Reuben sandwiches? Maybe a Club sandwich? Stop giving subs.
Anyone care to guess?
Dood, you had one job in a tracked vehicle.
Having been one of them, I don’t understand how they think this will go unnoticed. Someone is always watching. All the time it took to get to the wooded area and dump the mail, he probably could have delivered most of it. And now his pension is gone.
And still, too many people got their mail!
The USPS knows that’s his mail to deliver. How did he think he could get away with just throwing it out in the woods near a house—and one with cameras? Stupid.
He was a “contract” mail worker…so we have non-USPS people handling the mail-in ballots. Recipe for disaster and probably deliberate.
Look where the idiot dumped the mail, obviously they’re not contracting the best:

Just the ballot should get him ten years.
As much government welfare that the USPS gets - especially from democraps - we need to be asking where the money is going if they are hiring cheap temps with probably no USPS benefits.
Used to be that a large percentage of mailmen were veterans. Now a large percentage are DEI Demoncrats.
If any of that mail had critical prescriptions in it, and someone had an ER visit, then put him up for premeditated murder.
-a prison sentence no shorter than the longest election cycle of any seat on the ballot. If there was a senatorial election, that's six years.
-the forfeiture of the right to receive mail for ten years
-the forfeiture of the right to vote for life
-no government job or government subcontract job for life
Probably the one rat one that got overlooked in the mix. All the rest were just "pieces of mail".
