IDF Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi tells commanders from the Golani Battalion that Israeli forces have killed some 1,500 Hezbollah operatives so far since Israel stepped up its assault on the Lebanese terror group.
"We are very determined to hit Hezbollah as hard as possible," Halevi says during a visit to troops in southern Lebanon in remarks released by the IDF today.
"We have taken out their entire command layer," he says referring to airstrikes that killed terror leader Hassan Nasrallah and other top leaders. "And you are taking out the local command structure."
Halevi says the terror group "continues to shrink and shrink."
"Hezbollah is hiding casualties, hiding dead commanders. We estimate that we have killed some 1,500 Hezbollah operatives and our estimates are conservative, I imagine there are more that we don't know about from dozens of strikes."
Halevi also says that Hezbollah forces continue to surrender. "It says a lot about their morale and the level of fighting."
Halevi also says that Hezbollah's Iranian backers "also don't understand what is happening here to Hezbollah. And they are their main arm that they have been counting on, and that is very important."

Beheading the organization has further disrupted them, and once the main underground bunkers used for Iranian missile storage are found and blown sky high, at least 90 percent of the work will be done.
My guess is, Israel's move against Iran will be in stages, with in-country sabotage leading the efforts. Any kind of big aerial bombardment before the US election isn't likely IMHO. From the standpoint of Israel, not just Likud, the Biden junta shouldn't get any possible boost at the polls from 'Israeli escalation'.
Another guess is, Israel has told the Demogogic prez (Obama) and his cadre (Biden et al) to be fruitful and multiply, but not in those words. The Biden junta probably wanted Israel to be its proxy in Yemen, and pulled naval forces out. Subsequent to this, the US naval base on Diego Garcia is no longer going to be under UK sovereignty.
The spinelessness of the nations directly affected by the Houthi war on the shipping lanes was likely due to trying to blackmail Israel into acting against the Houthi. Instead, Israel has struck them just twice, and those were in response to Houthi missile attacks. The Israel response humiliated by illustrating that the US and EU have done little on behalf of their own interests.
Israel's most likely targets when it does respond to Iran are the IRGC bases near the large cities in Iran. They're filled with various foreign jihadist trash and are there to bust heads to keep the jihadist occupation regime in power. Once those are wiped out, the Iranian population is likely to tear the mullahs literally limb from limb. My hope is, they use the opportunity to demolish the mosques and literally annihilate the Shiite-heads and their low level stooges.
Hizzie losses in Iran's Syria intervention (2011-present, with 2014-2019 being the most brutal) exceeded a third of their total terrorist force over a four year period. As soon as Pooty sent a bunch of mercenaries, the Iranian forces other than Hezbollah were "redeployed" (dashed home to Iran; their death toll was also impressive). Iran had already resorted to conscripting Afghan refugees and shipping them to Syria, but they proved to be, uh, undermotivated.

I’d imagine that most won’t hang around anything that looks like a target, and will try to melt into the Lebanese population, of which they aren’t a part. Hezbollah is a foreign occupation force.

The Lebanons have a lot to lose-—way the heck more than the Gazers ever did. I’m expecting the local folks to start turning on/in the Hezzies. And the Hezerks with any brains will start even more turning themselves in. The Golan would make a dandy prison camp.
I’m thinking an old freighter, towed out over a really deep spot in the Med, then sunk with all the jihadists aboard her.
