ATLANTA -- A federal judge said Thursday that she won't order the presidential battleground state of Georgia to reopen voter registration for November’s elections despite recent disruptions to registration caused by Hurricane Helene.
U.S. District Judge Eleanor Ross rejected arguments that the state should reopen registration through next Monday. The registration deadline was last Monday and she said in her ruling from the bench Thursday afternoon that there would be no extension.
A lawsuit filed by the Georgia conference of the NAACP, the Georgia Coalition for the People’s Agenda and the New Georgia Project had argued that damage and disruptions from Helene unfairly deprived people of the opportunity to register.

Gotta’ hand it to the rats. They never relent in their efforts to corrupt our elections and destroy the American republic.
Elections have been on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November since 1845.
There is NO SURPRISE that one’s coming.
If you can’t think ahead, that’s your problem. You’ve had plenty of time.
Agreed. No breaks for the CLUELESS (or the CHEATERS).
Everybody who thinks it’s important to vote in Georgia has already registered. Those who aren’t registered can wait for 2028 and try to get an early jump on registering. At least register by 2027. Don’t wait until the last minute. Stop taking the drugs about 2026 and register.
Of course if the democrats ran to her on election night claiming that the rain had delayed democrats from voting then she would probably be the first to extend voting hours. It only works for democrats though.
Yep, and I also have a feeling those most affected by Helene who have been unimpressed with the federal response will find a way to vote this election.
An OBAMA appointee.................
This is an emergency situation. Tens of thousands of new Harris voters are washing up on the beaches. Something must de done!!!!
How right you are...
Judge rules Georgia ballots mailed by Election Day must be counted [GA goes Dem!]
