The Democratic Plant Who Could Throw the Wisconsin Senate Race
NRO ^ | October 9, 2024 | Rich Lowry

If you’ve been watching the polls in the Wisconsin Senate race, you’ve seen the Republican Eric Hovde making it a competitive race with the incumbent Democrat Tammy Baldwin.

You’ve also seen someone named Thomas Leager showing up at 2 percent or so in some polls. Who is Leager? He is supposedly the “America First” candidate but is really the product of a Democratic conspiracy to tank the GOP in close congressional races.

The Associated Press has done great work on this true false-flag operation.

Leager was an unindicted co-conspirator in the Whitmer kidnapping plot and has fringy right-wing views that you’d expect, but his candidacy has been a Democratic project from the very beginning. Even Roger Stone might blush at the audacity of it.

The AP reports:

Leager told the AP he was recruited last year to run by operatives who said they were with the Patriots Run Project. That group promoted itself as a pro-Trump grassroots movement that attacked both parties and urged conservatives to run for office as independents. The AP found the group was supported by Democratic firms and donors who worked to install several pro-Trump independent candidates in key House races. Most of them were disabled, retired or both.

Records show Democrats have given tens of thousands of dollars seeking ballot access for the far-right candidates. The supporters include [big-time donor David] Steinglass and his wife, Liz, who have given more than $5 million to support Democratic political groups, and others who have contributed to and worked for Democratic candidates.

While the strategy hasn’t always worked, Leager is among the candidates who qualified for the Nov. 5 ballot and could complicate Republicans’ efforts to reclaim the Senate.

Yeah, he could in a close race, and that’s the point.

According to Leager, an operative with the Patriots Run Project told him he was just the kind of candidate it was looking for because he “had not caved under pressure from the feds.” Then, Democratic donors ponied up to pay for a Democratic firm to get Leager on the ballot.

Conservative voters in Wisconsin must not fall for this dirty trick. Leager is the political type prone to see left-wing conspiracy theories everywhere, and, now, lo and behold, he’s part of one.

Interesting that left wing AP is pointing this out.

Trump has to put a strong message out in WI that Leager's a Democrat plant. Leager probably doesn't even realize he's a Dem plant. Or maybe they're paying him behind the scenes.

We have one in Reno vying for Amodei’s seat. A NPP candidate. No Particular Party? Listening to him, he seems like a lefty bend.

Yeah, democraps have been doing the false candidate thing for decades. It’s the only way Clinton could have beaten the elder Bush, who actually was fairly conservative, although some here will disagree with me.

There is no fixing stupid and stupid people vote stupidly... Nothing can be done about that. For instance... RFK Jr. will be on some ballots... He’s supporting Trump, so if support RFK Jr. you should vote for Trump... If you don’t and you vote for RFK Jr. instead... You are stupid.

If Trump wins he must lay waste to these “Democratic law firms” and any institutions that give refuge and employment to Biden’s fired administrators and operatives.

I don’t know if the David Steinglass mentioned in the story as one of the funders of the ruse to split the conservative vote is the same puke mentioned in this LinkedIn thumbnail or not, but if it is the same guy, he sounds like a real dirtbag:

“David Steinglass Donor activist for transgender rights; radical pragmatist ….”

I agree with you that Perot probably took more votes from Bush Sr than he took from Clinton. But from a perspective of trends, I think the main thing that made Bush Sr lose 1992 was it was probably unrealistic to expect the same party to win the WH 4 times in a row. In time the people get tired of government and, therefore, want to change whatever party's in the WH.

FDR and Truman (5 terms in a row for the Dims) was popular largely from people's desperation of the Great Depression combined with patriotism of WW2 (supporting the current president when we all need to stick together). Since then, the only time the same party won more than 2 times in a row was Reagan and Bush Sr (3 terms for Republicans) and that was, IMHO, only from Reagan's immense popularity. Take out the Reagan factor and, at best, either side should count winning 2 terms in a row as a major win (without voter fraud).

Leager is a paid dupe who is showing up at Conservative events claiming he is the “True Conservative” - A blind man could see that Leager is paid by the Democrats to drain votes from Eric Hovde.

The group Wisconsin Conservatives smelled a rat when Leager tried to join. Hovde supporters are now getting the word out that Leager works for Tammy Baldwin.
