Hezbollah said it supported efforts to secure a ceasefire with Israel as the IDF continued to target its top leadership, and the two armies sharply increased their bombardments.
“After the issue of a ceasefire takes shape, and once diplomacy can achieve it, all of the other details can be discussed, and decisions can be taken," Hezbollah deputy leader Naim Qassem said. "If the enemy (Israel) continues its war, then the battlefield will decide.”
Qassem mentioned, in particular, the efforts of the Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament, Nabih Berri, to restore calm.
"We support the political activity being led by Berri under the title of a ceasefire," Qassem said in his 30-minute televised address.
It was not clear whether this signaled any change in stance after a year in which the group has said it is fighting in support of the Palestinians during the Israel-Hamas War in Gaza and would not stop without a ceasefire there.

Lol, I’m sure they do.
Yes
NEVER make a deal with a terrorist for they will always be one.
So, they will promise to abandon their charter and stop killing Jews? Can I see that in writing? Or this another cease-fire where only one side is supposed to cease firing?
the IAF is blowing up the terrorists’ weapons arsenals with precision bombing (the IAF knows where the rockets and bombs are stored!) and the world can watch the great big secondary explosions on instant TV
and the IDF is going door to door, house to house, mosque to mosque .. the IDF knows which houses have rockets and missiles hidden in them! and their equipment detects the rest
it is going to be awhile before the job’s done...but this time I am confident it will be completed (without the politicians stopping or giving the victory away)
YAY! go go IDF! you people are great, once the dam**ed politicians smarten up and get the H*ll out of the way
Fact is - there is enormous international pressure to prevent Israel from taking any proactive measures against terror organizations like Hamas and Hezbollah.
Both Hamas and Hezbollah have made unprovoked, illegal terrorist attacks against Israel and have brought destruction against themselves.
Israel must use this opportunity to destroy 25 years of carefully built up, Iranian funded terror infrastructure while they have Hamas and Hezbollah on the ropes.
Gaza and Lebanon will be too busy rebuilding their countries to be much of a threat to Israel.
To do less would mean the eventual destruction of Israel.
Finish the job.
The Hezbos need to renounce Jihad, tear down their infrastructure and disarm so they can live in Peace forevermore.
That is who hamas-sholes want to ceasefire. They won’t even if they agree to.
From the Jordan to the Med all hamas should be dead.
Israel needs to keep going until there’s no one left at Hamas to ask for a cease fire.
I wonder why.....
Last I heard, they guys they are trying to appoint as new leaders of Hezbollah are declining the job.
Well, The Life Insurance companies aren't paying out due to the terrorist exclusion language.
Maybe the supply of virgin is low in muslim hell.
I guess dying for allah isn’t all it’s cracked up to be.
It’s fine for the other guy, the peons.> Elitists are the same worldwide, aren’t they? The common man is simply a tool for them to use and discard when done so they don’t have todo the dirty work themselves.
BITE OFF MORE THAN THEY CAN CHEW? DID THEY???
Pucked around and found out
There will be a ceasefire when Hezbollah ceases breathing.
Middle East request for cease fire = I’m getting my ass kicked and I need a pause to stop the bleeding and regroup.
Hey, Hezbolla all you have to do is to quit firing hundreds of missiles a day into civilian targets and you could probably get a cease fire.
Maybe it is just me and how I process information, by now it should be obvious to everyone, all the politicians, diplomats, academics, and journalists, that Israel is done playing by the old rules of Middle East war and peace. They view this as a fight for their survival. Cutting deals to please the UN and the rest of the world is not on the table anymore.
